I've fixed it for you. 😆

I don't see why not, there can only be so many of them minted on the day.

I wouldn't even know where to start to be honest. How much would it cost? If it's cheap I might do it just for the novelty!

Just out of interest, those who managed to order the 2022 SOTD sovereign yesterday, would you keep yours as it is in the box or send for grading?

Boxed.

I think it would be £24 per coin, plus postage costs

More importantly, should I get my strike-your-owns graded? :D

Since these coins are commemorating a 70th and the reverse design is one big 70, I think they'd look really cool in an MS70 slab.

Problem is, would you be okay with them if they don't make a 70?  🤷‍♂️

I’m thinking of getting it graded

same but then it's getting it outta the slab lol.

This has been discussed on here recently, somebody used a vice to crack the slab open. You've just got to make sure that the coin doesn't go flying across the garage at the same time or else that MS69 just became a VF35.

You press a button that makes it strike the coin. Loading the blanks and all that is done by them.

Shame, would be a better experience to wield the hammer oneself...also quite the spectacle for onlookers at the mint. 🙂

What with health and safety these days I am surprised you’re allowed to even press a button. Probably working on an app to do it virtually as we speak!

I preordered from Chards and they sent an update email stating the expect to have them ready to dispatch mid - end of March.

Perhaps quicker if you bought direct from the mint 🤷‍♂️.

Well one thing we can say for sure is they can’t use the excuse “We’re minting more in the next few weeks”. 😂

I think they still owe me a coin from Q Victoria Jubilee.

Seriously RM have become shocking for fulfilling their orders, but quick enough to take the currency stuff to pay for them.

  • List price £920 (sold via best offer)

Do we feel most of these will be HODL'ed by most ??

How do we feel?

I feel I’m taking mine to my grave. 😆

At least I’ll be doing my bit for future numismastists by reducing the availability by increasing the rarity.

I’m only joking. I’ll be holding mine until a ‘rainy day’ but then again living in UK tomorrow will most likely be a rainy day.

Mines going nowhere, judging by lack of flippping today's and ultra quick resales on feebay for the few that flipped, seems like this be a good one to grade and HODL like my 2017  pf70 sotd.

I feel this has a lot going for it.

I’d sort of forgotten about it on Sunday afternoon as I didn’t really intend to buy it nor expect to be able to after the ridiculous queue numbers RM have been giving me recently. I joined the queue and was lucky to get in within 5 minutes and I had a, should I, shouldn’t I moment.

But you are right, the lack of flipping says a lot about this and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really like the idea of SOTD sovereigns. Except this one.

Having said that, I think this, with the 2017 is a joint STOD to have.

They may appear once delivered/in hand.

I feel the smallest gold releases for this platinum jubilee year may end up being the most in demand given there's no shortage of product to throw your fiat debt tokens at this year
