2020 Una and the Lion

Recommended Posts

This price looks promising and congratulations to the seller (RegalStacker ?). The Gold Una are not totally despatched yet (I would be curious to know the proportion...for myself,  I'll only receive mine  in the first weeks of January).

We will probably see more coins for sale on the secondary market next month and the prices could be more "tempered" accordingly ?

Tell me about it. I sold 5 of my 6 for less than £10k each! 😭

🤣🤣🤣

Damn, I wish I bought 1. I can't even make a £1 loss on a Queens beast lion. Maybe I'll shift it if I loose a fiver 😂🤣😂

This is how I think the next one will look, although, how many "great designers" have the RM had? Pistrucci, Wyon and? If they do a Pistrucci design it would water down the already watered down 2017 200th Anniversary Sov

This is a good call. Others have mentioned the Gothic design, but I hope the next (or at least one in the series!) design will be from Jean Baptiste Merlen - specifically the 1825 sovereign reverse. Though the 1830 and 1838 are also beautiful!!

You do realize this would be impossible right? Because for a coin to be legal tender the reigning monarch’s effigy has to be on the obverse.

So as cool as this looks, it is probably wishful thinking.

So it ended at £21,500 - wow

Looking at the bidding history, there were x8 unique bidders in total,

All willing to offers in excess of £15,000+ to the starting price

Looking at current ebay UK listing, none have came immediately into the market on the back of this massive hammer price

Lets see what the next one at auction goes for

The person who sold the buy it now on for £18,000 four days prior on 26th, lost out on £3,500

I do realise that, as the monarch today is ER II, what I was meaning was it could be the gothic crown design, but its mere speculation

I rather think of it as they only gained £14,000 😄

So who's going to drop £4000 on the next gold in the series hoping for gain's?

I think it'll be a total click fest, gone in moments if the site doesn't crash. It's very hard to see how the next one will lose money, and there's big potential upside if it performs anything remotely like Una.
