The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. Got these in dribs and drabs either side of payday, so waited until all here to show.

Went for the carded Sovs in the end (being Jubilee year) and inspired by the recently discussed world run of 1/10 gold's, I couldn't resist the Royal Arms. Think Unicorny 🤷! A bit of fun, very cute but they are so so small. They are affordable however, and seem popular, so might see where the collection goes.

Thanks👊

Cheers mate. I think I could cope with 3 different year elephants/pandas etc though!

🤔Maybe

Are you looking for 10 different countries or just 10 different designs?

I quite like it. The above post was my first Sovereign purchase ever. Always went for 24ct for no real reason.

I will be getting more in the future.

No grand plan. All I know is, one elephant means two more etc etc

An ounce of tenths is actually quite satisfying and with a bit of flexibility on design's instead of country would be more beneficial if you're looking at acquiring 30 of them.

To be fair, I used 1oz silver as a way to get a huge (well, not huge exactly!) selection of coins, I have a few different 1oz gold's (keeping within my own 3 rule) but this could be the happy medium for a larger variety within my Au stack🤷. Was still aiming to get the Tudor Beasts 1/4s x3 so I'll have fingers in pies all over the place!! So I think I'll just take my time with these, although I do seem to have trouble taking my time🤔.

Now, didn't I see an elephant for sale......

Royal Mail Outsources Packaging to Amazon

In 2015 the Royal Mint continued a long established trend of giving silver coins to children born in the same year as a royal birth.

Precisely 2015 "lucky" families were presented with a silver penny presentation set, this consisting of a Brilliant Uncirculated silver 1p coin mounted in a comparatively gargantuan picture frame. The entire unholy caboodle was presented in a RM sarcophagus of megalithic proportions.

The obverse shows the 4th Portrait of HRH and the reverse is the current shield section.

In another display of RM's increasingly tenuous grasp of reality, the CoA - attached to the back of the frame - advises on how to treat proof coins and bangs on tangentially about the Trial of the Pyx. Big yourself up, why don't you?

Other than it's rarity and absurdity value this bizarre offering is of zero interest to me. There are many who collect silver pennies nowadays and I had previously never seen this BU specimen offered anywhere ever. Maybe your next quarry,@richatthecroft?

If you are interested in buying this numismatic folly please get in touch. Postage will be enormous or collection by JCB can be arranged.

The silver proof £2 Technology coin was not included and is shown merely by way of ridicule.

I always enjoy the poetic contempt of your posts @PapaLazarou, but you have outdone yourself here. Hats off to you. Laughed out loud a couple of times.

I dont want the coin, but out of interest whats the going rate for this folly?

I also like these. I bought the first 2, then stopped, not sure why, but will hopefully catch up at some point. These have slipped under the radar a bit I think, but deserve more recognition.
