Fallen back slightly to £1001 hopefully it dips a bit more so i can stop procrastinating on a purchase!

I paid the premium for the lion and griffin (1oz gold)- which for me were worth it, partly due to the fact i can now look forward to completing a full set but also due to the rise in spot price since purchasing  takes the sting out of the premiums paid when i cost average the set. Moving forward I’ll pick up a few extras of all the current coins - i dont have huge expectations for increase in price but its more of a certainty than a standard Brit or Krug - and even if there is no premium to pass on they are close enough in price to the standard bullion coins to take a punt! 

The main thing i take from your post is the term “permastack” which is a term i will hijacking as my own from now on.

Im no chart buff but its interesting looking at the gold chart in £ compared to in $. Just shows that gold isnt gaining as much as you’d think, but the pound is becoming more worthless by the day.

i cannot believe this is the first i have seen of the sovereign advent calendar and i am GUTTED that i dont have one!!!

The OP is getting a hard time - and some good advice - which i agree with! But i think he has just got into gold at the wrong time in his life and i agree with him buying his first house is more important than holding gold (for him).

For me uncertain times makes me want to buy more gold! Assets rise and fall, the hope is if your diverse then if one thing is falling HOPEFULLY another is rising!

Good luck with your future investments, perhaps one day you will decide to diversify back into PMs.
