With the amount known to be sold by Chards, Ukgoldcoins and others already, I very much doubt RM will have more than a few hundred to sell on the actual release day. They'll be gone within 5 minutes I think, and all but impossible to get unless you win the lottery with the queue.
Last few queues I've been 5000+ each time and not been able to order. The only coins I've been able to secure are via my account manager.

People there run the gammit from those who aren't very interested to those who are keen collectors. I would class myself as a serious collector so took the chance to go whilst I was roughly in the area already. I did find it a bit on the disappointing side as the stuff I had a genuine interest in just wasn't covered in any way at all - it all focused on the commercial side minting base metal coins for the UK and other countries. The displays were ok but again they cram so many tours in per day so you don't get much time to hang around and look at things in any real detail. I don't think I'd travel to go again to the standard tour but from what I've heard of the VIP tours they'd be worth checking out since you're actually given a decent amount of time to check out some rare coins in their museum. If I lived close enough to the RM I would absolutely go regularly to flip the SYO coins. The ones we had stamped on the day wound up selling for close to £50/each which more than paid for the trip to the RM and our day in Cardiff.

As for the SOTD sov - I wonder how much stock they'll actually have once the RM start selling them. Other dealers have already sold or are in the process of selling their allocations. I think its going to be a mess on the morning of release with far fewer available than folks expect.

They might! I once had to phone up to chase a SotD delivery and the lady had to check if it had been minted yet. I assured her it had, but bless her she wanted to double check with her manager for me!

Whats even more surprising to me is the tours they are running that day. 8am to 8pm with a new group starting the tour every 20mins. They'll likely take even longer than normal given most who are going are probably there to get the max allocation of the SYO coins. Gonna be a busy day for them!

He is certainly wealthy. I would say '(lower) upper middle class' in Japanese terms (a fair bit above a British equivalent in respect of money). His English - although heavily accented - is quite fluent, suggesting that he continued his language education to university level, which is not common with such proficiency among Japanese of his age (his voice and skin tone suggest a man in his 40s). Both would also suggest that he went to a university of some practical merit (rare in Japan at that time), has spent significant time abroad, and/or has fostered regular interactions with native speakers since.
£95 is a 'nice' meal out for one in Japan at a noteworthy restaurant (also noteworthy though that their £10 restaurants put ours to shame). However this is a man who both appreciates the coin deeply and yet wishes to experience it in its purest form, and via touch. He is a gentle and appreciative connoisseur - taking nothing for granted. He is of the (uniquely Japanese afaik) mindset of treasuring the moment, the transience - exploring all states of the coin. The perfection, and then the imperfection (and yet it being, in a sense, so much more perfect in its 'imperfection' state - to some he has sacrificed something, but for him he has gained everything he could have from this experience).
It's a very nuanced Japanese way of thinking, and very hard to explain. But it's incredibly beautiful if you can grasp (which I have only a few times).
Very glad to see this thank you

With mintages this low on all coins, I feel that the household limit on each coin should be 1.  If people can easily snap up 3, it will be a much quicker sellout and will make fewer available from the RM, and collectors will be forced to buy from dealers or flippers.  As long as the coin with the largest mintage is a mere 1,250, the HHL should be 1.

Sounds like he's really enjoying the coin. What's wrong with that?! And I think the sentiment behind his comment was that it was worth spending £95 on it rather than it being worth £95 to anyone else.
I'm going to crack open my 2022 5-coin proof sovereign set to see if it brings me similar joy.
