What is your favourite Queen Elizabeth II coin?

Superb four nominations from @SilverMike, I would love to own any or all of those.  Lovely.

Edit: Looking closely at the 50p nomination - that 50th anniversary of decimal day coin is a very clever design, incorporating the old farthing, halfpenny, penny, threepence, sixpence, shilling and florin.  I hadn't previously appreciated how well those predecimal coins had been incorporated into the design.

It’s pretty clever isn’t it…

this is the original sketch from Dominique Evans, showing the overlaps….

And hers the link to the article on the RM website:

Cheers.

It's a slight pity that the half crown didn't manage to make it onto the coin, but good to know that it was part of the original sketch - and if any coin had to be omitted, the half crown was the logical choice. 🙂

Interesting so far that everyone who has created or added to this thread self-identifies as 'Collector', or 'Both'.

I think this sort of thread will appeal to everyone,  but more so to 'Collectors'.

I wonder if it is because collectors look at their coins whilst stackers weigh their coins?

The 1967 Canadian goose Dollar coin is my favorite.

I like this simple design, n have 2 ordinary goose and also 2020 2oz silver bullion. Wish to have a diving goose variety in collection, which is a very nice coin to hold👍

A great topic, something which in truth I had never really thought about that much.

Some absolute stunners here, notable mentions to @Paul, @SilverMike and @richatthecroft for pulling out the big guns. The stuff of dreams for me.

My more modest suggestion in the 1977 Silver Jubilee Crown. If there is a more elegant coin out there, I would love to see it. The obverse of this year's crown is a nice update to the 1977 version.

If I could go nuts and have anything though, then it would probably have to be an Una & the Lion - the big gold one

The next year and more ahead will certainly be reshaped and different from next week. What it will be I've no idea.

But expect some unloved treasures of QEII reign to surprise and delight. There'll be new secret sleepers created and elevated to classics through auctions I've no doubt

There's chances there could be a lot of new folk into the market especially if inflation continues, gold keeps increasing, money printing

The new state of the market and what will happen after the  Queen's funeral next week may be worthy of its own thread to discuss ??
