Advice from @Rll1288 is correct. Anything with potential for moisture should be avoided. You just want a short sharp clean burst of air to clear the dust or anything else loose on the coin.
Thank you both @Rll1288and @AndrewSL76 for your experience and advice. Finally got round to ordering one of these (1z.png): Before (2a.png) and After (2b.png) pic of coin. Thank you, much appreciated 👍

Has anyone tried to get a label online for returns?
The order number doesn't work and if you put the order ref in, it says cant return because past the end of window for return. (This I assume is because the order ref is the same as the 1st coin.)
What a funny website.
On the phone they say they also can't create a returns label. LOL

So sad, are you OK to include these photos in any communications with the royal mint?
Sure, as long as no one chases me for funds, lol.

Yeah, so mine have arrived. Heres some ammo for you @BackyardBullion. I think most of it is dust.
I don't even know how its possible to send this out.
Wonder if can exchange as it will suck if cant get a replacement? 😭
Thanks

Nice... Did you order online or was it done by your AM? Most AM orders seem to be dispatched after weeks
Might not be correct as no tracking info, some trickery is happening with my acc so think its incorrect, all my passed orders have disappeared from view. I think RM are having a laugh with me this monday morning.

I don't even know how it's possible for money to leave your account but no order to be generated. 'Tis a mystery.
Oh! So there may be light at the end of the tunnel?
Yeah, just wont have a better sleep tonight than if you got a order number with a email and order showing in your orders page. 🤣

I have a feeling my order has fallen through the net. I'll probably have to wait a week for the pending money to fall off my bank account. At least I had a minute of jubilation 🥳
This happened to me too, I tried a different card and same thing, payment pending. Last time this happened I had to ring up rm and they found my order. So looks like I will have to ring them tomorrow as they are not open rn.

Place an order for a low value coin, you will then be able to save the card details and have it ready for next time.
Thats good thinking, thank you.

You should have your new card before then, remember to change long number in your details though
Thanks, however there is nowhere on the site accounts page to set the details that i can see? 😭

I got continuation ordered but my card expires end of Jan, which is the Monday. Can't seem to find a setting online to setup default and update my details. Will rm contact me if they can't take payment or will they just cancel my order?
Looks like I might be sweating without being in the queue? 😂

We @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer do take payments immediately, but if you spoke to one of our Customer Service Team, we may have been able to help you, although we don't normally take part payments, except on some pre-order items. We do try to be helpful.
🙂
Thanks, will know for next time.

Everyday I am kicking myself as I had a chance to purchase this at chards on release of the platinum jubilee range day at £681. But because I needed to have funds In my account as I was waiting on several pending transactions from RM I couldn't purchase as didn't know chards takes payment on dispatch or right away?
Gutting but for future reference does chards take payment straight away or upon dispatch of items?
Thanks

🤣 Yeah, don't do that. He ended his video by saying " Yes, I think this is worth £95" .. it may have been 3.5 minutes earlier but it wasn't by the time he finished with it.
I also think his description of how shiny and heavy it was compared to a circulation £2 kind of gave the game away 😂
Thanks for sharing 👍
Edit: worth adding, no problem handling with bare hands, its the safest way, but don't touch the surfaces of a proof, ever. The grease from your skin not only leaves an ugly mark and possibly scratches the surface if its a smudge, but over time the acid also etches the surface - permissible on the rim, destroying it numismatically (in most cases) if on the surface.
The risk is too great with my unsteady hands 🤣
-
Saw a video the other day and thought this guy handled the coin like a bossman and either didn't care or he didn't know how proof coins should be handled. (Not one to tell how to handle the coins but i feel this isn't the way, for me anyways.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJCJWFUDKKQ
His really enjoying the coin and I wondered any one else enjoy their proof coins to the fullest like this with their bare hands.
Wish I can handle my proof coins like this but something tells me I can't without blemishes appearing. (I think he created a blemish on the coin after too as example. )
Thanks

@BarryWoods Hi Barry,
QuoteThought I put your post details here aswell as it contained prices.
The British Monarchs Collection - Royal Mint - any thoughts?
5 year series, 21 monarchs.
Starting with Henry VII
1250 1oz silverproof £135790 2oz silverproof £260275 5oz silverproof £555600 1oz gold proof £2760175 2oz gold proof £512075 5oz gold proof £11430Mine thoughts are, at the moment it does seem to be too many releases, to close together, but I think long term it might do well, especially the older coin design portraits..
I'm likely to get the ones, that most people have ever 'heard of/know about'
Henry VIII, Elisabeth 1st, Victoria and of course Elisabeth 2nd (likely with Charles on the other side - )
Fortunately for my wallet, those are a years away

For me, RM looks like they have made the decision for me 🤣, at them prices, its a sit out for me. The amount of releases and the months of releases in Jan, I can't afford to add extra brokeness for the next few years in January to my already broke ass.
Thanks

Must have a big one (oi oi) 😁, now im going round the house trying it on everything from mouse and keyboard to dust on the table, easily pleased. 🤣
Yeah didn't really think about it and just did it, whiles doing it, was worried abit if I make contact with the tip to the coin. I have noticed when I re open the cap though, cloud appears but disappears after. Maybe need to let the coin air out first and wait few minutes after use and then put capsule back on?
Oh no, This month is too soon and the bullion hasn't been released, lol. My wallet needs to breath.
