StackemHigh got a reaction from Wampum in 2021 Britannia Platinum proof 1oz coin, does it exist?
Like most coins could be! Pt at a sensible price i'd go for it. Only problem is the market for Pt coins at the moment is tiny and are the premiums responsible?

StackemHigh got a reaction from Wampum in How often does modern RM proof milk in NGC holders?
I've not bought new from the mint since the queens beasts started. I had terrible milk spots on the proofs and TBH not much has changed except the rocketing prices the rm charge. Any few items i buy are from a third party source that checks the quality before selling on. The uk lunar proofs i stopped too due to quality and the designs got really really bad IMHO.

StackemHigh got a reaction from Coverte in How often does modern RM proof milk in NGC holders?
The first two queens beasts and some of the early lunar proofs. The weird ways of the rm releasing some coins in a series then missing some or cutting series short hacks me off as a collector and even when i'm buying as a stacker unnecessarily poor quality the rm churns out with astounding regularity me bamboozles and their premiums too £95.00 for a poorly designed year of the pig, while perth mint charge their customers around $70 for a regular well produced proof.
I'd easily buy from the mint again but the quality of their merch being just so poor at the moment i couldn't spend that sort of money on such a wild gamble.

StackemHigh got a reaction from wilspeak in Should I buy $100 in silver rounds or a 1/10 Platinum coin for $156
I'd favor the Pt. Can't build a nice Pt stack without getting any!

StackemHigh got a reaction from wilspeak in Would you get into this new series?
Not one for me. Not a bad design but plenty of star wars stuff out there now.

I'd be buying any Pt coins or bars any size just as long as the price is right.

Capsules for everything except omp packaging.

Mistake for sure the rm hasn't got any sort of grasp of any of the source work they celibrate. Just look at the lacklustre alice in wonderland coins. They have sat the designers in front of a tv and shown them some old movie and said you've got till lunchtime tomorrow to design us a coin!

StackemHigh got a reaction from Pete in 1/10 oz Platinum Kookaburra 2021
I've checked all my usual go to dealers in the UK for this Kook and i can find one that even has a listing. Platinum is just so damn difficult to collect in the UK between dealers not getting any, VAT and import charges.

StackemHigh got a reaction from dicker in [UK Stacking] Did the 2021 Britannia change anything (vs the Sovereign)?

I've always been a collector of stuff like many small kids are, postcards on holidays and key rings from interesting places i've been but after a bad motorcycle accident and a house fire my priorities changed. I became free and loose with wine women n song and this is where precious metals stopped a downward spiral into marriage and children. I saved some old UK 5p pieces the old one bob (very like 5Dm coins of the time) and on trips to west Germany i bought several porn mags from the vending machines at motorway services. Good times were had drinking in Germany and the mags helped pay for the trips. On a later trip to Berlin after the wall i was walking around a flee market and spotted some old reich marks and some Bismark metals going very cheap so i bought them and quickly sold them on too. Unfortunatly the old coins buy turned into getting any coins gold or silver from home or abroad to turn a profit. A pocket full did make for some very good holidays in europe. The lads holidays away stopped but the coins have remained.
A few years ago i made the biggest mistake / regret of my collecting life i sold nearly all of my collection and bought some gold. I have since rebought most of it
Today i'm a collector of mainly silver and more recently gold. I still buy any old / new coin i like but now i keep most of it, I'll trade with a small group of friends into metals to get what i like.
I do like the Perth Mint products with their three lunar series, kooks and wedge-tailed eagles favorites. Annual typeset collections of these and other coins keep me away from the pub like the old days but i still go to music gigs in europe and bring back some gold bullion hidden in my wallet. I never go anywhere without some empty filps in there too.
