Absolutely agree. 1/4 Oz gold would’ve been the absolute sweet spot for such a long series of coins.

The coins would also be Sovereign size, so just about perfect; neither too small nor too big.

I bet at the of the series they will release a complete 1/4 Oz set, which is why the series is slated to end in 2027 even though the last coin according to the release schedule is 2026.

That is because they need to release the Tudor Coin / Stuart Coin, Hanover Coin etc. the Completer Coin, and the not quite made it Monarch coin for Lady Jane Grey 😀

They ain't released a 10 OZ gold yet, so they could mint a complete a 10 OZ gold set. Bringing this organ swap service at the Royal Mint Museum back to mind.

But seriously, a 1/4 OZ set would be great. I guess there will be also splitted releases and at the end of this, we will have more than 21 coins.

What are splitted releases? 😅

Two coins instead of one. How you say that in english? I went swimming instead of english class. Was way more fun, than listening to Miss Hauxwell. I never attended to her class, and 30 years later i still remember the name of this crow. 😰

I got this same e-mail in December for the proof Sovereign.  The RM is overloaded due to their own doing.  Numerous issues in such a short period of time will always clog the channels.  This is so frustrating. I canceled my Sovereign order and instead ordered from a dealer.  I received it in the U.S. a month before the RM would have supposedly shipped it.  This is a sad situation that will get even worse with all the coins being released now and in the next month.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy a 2 oz. silver Henry VII.  Since the 2 oz. has seemed easier to obtain than the 1 oz., I will consider collecting the rest of the series in 2 oz. (which is my preference).  In the meantime, I will have the 1 oz. and 2 oz. with a month to decide which way i want to go with this.

My 2 oz. arrived this weekend, and it is absolutely fantastic!  Love the box it comes in.  The King Henry portrait almost looks more BU as opposed to proof (like the obverse), which is absolutely perfect and was my wish.  I don't think they had proof coins back in the time of Henry VII!   This coin is a real winner, and I look forward to seeing the next coin in the series.  Hope it won't be so stressful to order.

100 % agree..I'm going for the 2oz's I loved the Henry VII but if the first mintages of these are going to be the standard..the 2oz is going to be hard to get RRP!

Yeah the box was REALLY nice. When I was unboxing mine I wondered if they hadn't made a mistake and sent me a gold instead of the silver I ordered. So much nicer than any other silver proof box I've had before. I also very much agree with your thoughts on the coin - it is really nice. Much nicer than expected.

My 5oz silver has just been dispatched, which is a nice surprise considering it was expected for March.

Let's hope the quality is good and the coin won't have to be returned (as is common these days).

In addition to my 1 oz. silver Henry VII, I am still waiting for my 5 oz. silver Royal Jubilee coin (in addition to the SOTD Sovereign).

5oz Henry VII with some classic Royal Mint capsule problems.

It's a rather nice screw shut capsule, but whoever packaged it must have crossed the threads so it was closed on one side but gaping open on the other. It barely felt secure, so I unscrewed it and was able to screw it shut properly, which suggests it was a packing error. The reverse looks lovely, but there are metallic specs or dents on the shiny fields on the other side :(

I have the 1oz and 2oz silver.

I was tempted to get the 5oz from chards a few weeks back, about 100 above RRP. I didn't in the end
