Dose anyone know if you’ve bought the first in the series will the RM offer you the following one or is it’s going to be a frantic lottery grab like normal? 🤣

God I hope they reach out to previous customers, it’s a massive event for me when the RM are releasing a new coin in the morning normally followed by everyone saying now sold out and me sulking 😂

I hope so hard they offer continuity for all the 20 following coins. If they ain't raise the mintage at least for the silver coins, or don't offer continuation, i start collecting glass marbles. They are always available at Habib's store at the corner.

But serious, this one, at least for the first couple releases, is a tough one to collect with this mintages and this queue massacre every time. And these coins are nowhere really offered outside the UK since the release. Thank you Royal Mint for this FOMO life for the next couple of years.

I find it incredible the mint will offer a set of 21 coins of this calibre/cost and not look after the collector! As stated before, even to get in at the 1oz gold. You would need to “invest” around 50 grand.

I believe as said before, there is only one way to save the mints profits and satisfy collector demand is to mint to order. Everyone happy and secondary prices will settle eventually.

Thanks mate.

Wow, with only a 700 x 2oz mintage and based on original coins costing £52,800, this first in the series should be rather sought after in the future. I’m going for the full series in 2oz!!!

“The testoon, or silver shilling, dates from 1502 in the reign of Henry VII and had been offered with an estimate of £20,000-30,000 at Morton & Eden in London on December 7. Including premium, the price paid was £52,800.

The coin was purchased in the room on behalf of the Royal Mint Museum based in Llantrisant, south Wales, achieving a record price for a testoon at auction. The previous record for a testoon was £38,400 achieved in 2015, says Morton & Eden.

This is why I will be buying through the dealers.  Sure, I will try to buy them from the RM, but I realize the difficulty of navigating the queue and then ultimately being disappointed because of the tiny mintages.  I’ve resigned myself to having to buy from the dealers at a higher price if I want the coin.  It’s the same for me here in the U.S. trying to navigate the U.S. Mint’s releases.  Nothing but stress, headaches, and no luck.

UK Gold Coins sold out of the 2 oz. silver over the weekend.  Today, they magically got 2 more and the price increased £50.

I had a look..not a bad premium for the 2oz if you missed out on the release day especially as they are a low mintage. Going forward it's good to know that certain dealers might have these weeks after the release from the RM when the sell out. I have read alot on here that the 1oz is more popular because of the higher mintages, availability  and price...but I'm going to try for the complete Silver  2oz set....Its going to be very difficult I know to get them all at retail and not have to go hunting on the secondary market for the cheapest one... but 'No guts,no glory' 😄😄

It's interesting to me that the 1 oz. seems harder to find now than the 2 oz.

If anyone is looking for the gold versions of these, they are all going over on the fb groups at cost. Before they return them to the mint.🤣🤣

I put one on here at cost but no takers, still available for a couple of days if anyone is interested 🤷‍♂️

I guess there are more 1 OZ collectors, than for 2 OZ. And that's a lot of coins in this series, a lot of money to spend on. If they hold on to this small mintages for 1 & 2 OZ silver could be getting really expensive to complete the whole set. To go for 1 OZ on secondary market, and maybe we have to for some coins, doesn't hurt that much, like for the 2, or the 5 OZ.

For easy collecting i stay with the Tudor Beasts, but i'll into the competition to complete the Monarchs. I will loose my hair completing this series

Yes, no matter how you look at it, the British Monarchs collection will be expensive to complete.  It will be quite expensive for me, because I doubt I will be able to get any at RRP through the RM.  Living in the U.S., I would have to enter the queue at 3:00 a.m. my time.  I did that for the proof sovereign, but no more for me.  I need my sleep!  So, I will be forced to go the dealer route.

The trouble with these very low mintages is there is nothing for dealers to get hold of to offer for sale. The Gold versions will all go to existing RM members and some of the lucky ones that manage to secure the Henry VII. I think the 1oz coins are the ones to go for in this series, as there are going to be 24 I think? In 1oz version, they will go pretty well in a nice display box, and a lot cheaper so unlike the engravers I think you find the highest premiums on these rather then the 2oz.

You are referring to the 1 Oz vs 2 Oz gold or silver?

Gold primarily, although the same could be said about both, I think 20 odd 2oz coins in a display box is going to look quite unwieldy.

I like those chunky 2 OZ silver coins. I go for 1 & 2 OZ silver. 1/4 OZ gold would have been great for such a long series.

Absolutely agree. 1/4 Oz gold would’ve been the absolute sweet spot for such a long series of coins.

The coins would also be Sovereign size, so just about perfect; neither too small nor too big.

I bet at the of the series they will release a complete 1/4 Oz set, which is why the series is slated to end in 2027 even though the last coin according to the release schedule is 2026.
