Just imagine the QC problems with them 😂 I think they just decided to reduce the mintage figures probably reduced it by 5000 or more making this a good sovereign to pickup 👍

It would be nice if that were the case ey.... but they have until the 31st so why would they pull them early?

I don't think anyone is going to see any of these until after xmas.

When they do come though it'll be interesting to see if the popularity of them grows. Pictures of them in the flesh will get people fired up for them but it will ve to late for some. I really do think these are a dark horse and I don't know why. They are an obvious future high collectable in my opinion. Mintage and price aside..... these are literally history being made.

Probably not, however, as I’m sure you know, it wouldn’t be the first time. Was done in the past with a complete run of silver Britannias. 🤔😮

Some difference in values though. Unless they got a significant discount per coin. Even then, storage would be quite a significant undertaking.

Can't see it personally, then does the buyer sit on a few million in stock? Or flood the already disillusioned market?

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Just spoke to the mint to see where my piedfort is and my brothers 1st Harry Potter 50p. They said that they are due to be minted on the 23rd of December so should have them early to mid January. The 2nd Harry Potter 50p isn't being minted until January some time.

That’s odd as I received a dispatch notice for the 2nd HP 50p (silver) already and Royal Mail have confirmed receipt of a TRM package so assume it’s enroute?

Edit - ignore me, just realised this is the Gold section…sorry

Production on the last working day before Christmas, jeez. Look out for mules and some interesting coins with QC stickers on!

Someone didn't read the last few pages 😂😂

That goes for me also on a different matter, see 2 posts back. Helps if you (I) read the following posts. In my defence I quoted what I thought was the latest post on the thread. Wasn’t looking to steal anyone’s gag😄

Does that mean a floor is in now on the prices ? If a dealer bought the remainder, no way will they  flood the market. If RM “bought” them for a later “special” set release, we should know when the coronation proofs come out perhaps (although personally, I doubt they would have “bought the while lot…3,000 is a lot of “special” sets even for the RM)….or maybe Harry bought them as a prezzie for Megsy baby…..Time will tell….added three  bullion 2022  double sovs today either way….

Doubt this scenario but If some entity underwrote this release can't see them paying over spot, that would not bode well if true. With these coins clearly still in production most likely scenario imo final mintage figure will be a few K less than original max.

Having bought the 5 coin set, I have no problems with your scenario ;) Very much looking forward to seeing the quintuple. I’m a glass half full kinda guy :)

This would be the best case scenario of course but I'm not convinced. They had a deadline of the end of December or they sell out. The deadline hasn't been reached so I have to believe they've been sold but the way in which the remaining 3k+ went........ its a bit fishy isn't it 🤔
