……And finally a tribute to our Aussies on TSF whose Mints have made Sovereign collecting so worthwhile

Just heard that King Charles will NOT be shown on the A$5 Banknote in future, which of course will please the Republicans. However it seems that KCIII will be on Aussie coinage ; a design/ effigy to be shown around time of the Coronation…..

That's a lot of shiny things.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Time to return a couple ounces. Think rather have that £5k back for bullion investing these days.

When the days come now that you have to check every proof coin with a loop is a time to move to bullion.

Interested other peoples thoughts?

Highly desirable in my opinion. The kind of package I could marvel over and research the history of. But I'd never want to invest the kind of money these proofs demand. Give me a good Beasts bullion coin any day over these. They way I can enjoy owning a piece of the history of these coins and not feel like I've spent a small fortune on something I can't liquidate as easy as bullion.

The essence of gold stacking imo. Coin on top of coin on top of coin. Quite hypnotic really. In my opinion, but I'm a bit odd anyway. Still, it's very appealing. Very. I think I'll just sit here looking at it for a bit :D

You definitely look like a man in need of sovereigns.

Sovs are pretty liquid.  Last time I had Fiat the mirrors kept falling off.

Another Brit date run, very nice! Are you going to add the 2017 Chariot and the Trident privy?

That's a double sized rabbit hole I don't want to go down. I'll stick with the normal bullion, if not it the privy marks, oriental borders and all that.
