  1. It might not be Christmas but it's still a selection box woo hoo! We have a delectable choice of two silver ounce Charlies, a pretty little half sovereign to add some sparkle, and an individually wrapped one gram bar of golden pleasure. And why not, It might only be a gram but it's still a gram. And what do grams make? Yup, ounces. Besides, state of gold at the moment I can't afford anything else lo-lol. Happy gold and silver day - yayyyyyy!!!!
  2. My entire silver collection can fit inside an emp proof phone case so I'm ok. I need that silver to buy spuds in Armageddon.
  3. A couple more pieces for the pot. Silver Britannia 1oz 2024, and a nice half sovereign, also 2024.
  4. Sovereigns! Sov ... you mean the one ring to rule them all???!!!??? THE British full sovereign chased by generations through millennia as the pinnacle of stacking, wealth, and financial fortitude through good times and the bad? No 😆 I want a piss poor one grammar. It's my lot in life. 😇
  5. Only the finest flat pack from Argos in my diner. No profit there, unless I can flog it to some retro who wants 1980's mdf in their time bubble. I did think about putting a couple of 1 gram bars away for pension day but the way the buggers are going up I'll be paying enough tax on the profits to cover Gary Lineker for a year by the time I retire, which isn't that far. I thought about half sovs but same thing, who needs enough liquidation in a half sov to buy a fully staffed mansion on a private island 20 years down the line. Maybe not 20 years, maybe 2 the way things are collapsing. Maybe I should be looking at microns 🤨
  6. Thanks to all for the comments. I've got no idea why I've suddenly got a bee in my bonnet about 1 gram bars, but I have and it's stuck lol. Then again I'm also fancying quarter ounce silver Brits, so at least my tastes are affordable. 😆
  7. With gold getting more and more expensive, and what with CGT allowance soon being lowered to £3000, are 1 gram bars a worthy investment? Thoughts please.
  8. Good luck with the silver collecting. Tbh it'll probably never be worth investing in but its fun to have and pass on to the kids.
  9. Dr Doh! Gold Dinger! Thunderbawl You Only Suffice Diamonds Are Whatever Live And Lets Cry The Man With The Overrun A View To A Shill Golden Sigh!
  10. Still a bummer but I do agree. Better to knock a bottle of Lambrini off the table than a bottle of Whisky.
  11. I'm not the best person to advise you given the amount you want to spend. My sum total of silver is about £500 quid lol. I'm more hobbyist than investor. I can tell you what's pretty and looks nice, but offshore? no idea at all. Although I wouldn't advise storing anything at home. Get a safe deposit, even if you're only buying a few hundred pounds in value. No point taking risks ect. All the best, it's a fun hobby to get into. I'm sure there are other members here who know what's what about investment silver. Me? My investment knowledge ends at 'Ohhh I like that!' and 'I think I'll treat myself' lol
  12. Why not. Silver is cheap, pretty, and will always hold intrinsic value. And like 'The Pools' you might get a surprise return on it someday, but I wouldn't hold breath. Silver's most attractive asset is to scratch an overwhelming itch, which it does nicely, so you can't really lose. Big ... chunky ... bars! 1oz coins. Lions and tigers and bears ohhhhhhh my!
  13. Um ... ... hope so after buying half a kilo 😂
  14. Will do. I'm in the mood to get my old camera out now lol
  15. Agreed. Will bugger off. In my defence I did get drawn back in. But I'm off properly this time.
  16. Dunno, brain stem issues, too much coffee, 5G signals interfering with my thoughts? Could be anything, but it's probably a typo
  17. I don't think a dedicated camera set up can be beat, no matter how far they advance miniature tech in phones ect. I've still got all my old kit, I used to do a lot pf photography and publish to stock sites. I'm still getting royalties for pix I took 20 years ago. Have you tried the photo stock website Alamy? Money for old rope, or pix rather. I sold a pic of a snail in a garden that ended up in U.S reference books, and a pic of my little cat - she ended up on a Calendar. I don't know which month, but she looks like a February lol. 🤣 Anyway I've gone a bit de-rail-y so I'll bugger off lol.
  18. I've got an old Canon 5D Mk3. The pix from it are amazing. I'd never get rid of it. Although I'm a bit lazy and never get it out anymore. Convenience over quality every time here lol.
  19. Oh ... my ... gosh! That set is up there with ....
  20. I took my pix with an iPhone under a light bulb while having a cup of tea 🤣
  21. Half a kilo 'o' finest silver! With Armageddon around the corner I can well imagine silver becoming the coin of the realm. Besides, what is gold without silver? It's like Starsky without Hutch or Laurel without Hardy. So I got these. 100 gram silver bars, and lovely they are too ...
  22. If you don't maintain the frothy happy cycle of selling your pms for exactly the same pms in a different form the whole gold and silver lovefest will collapse in on itself and create a nuclear sized crater with life changing ramifications for all of us whereby the universe becomes a hollowed out shell of its former silver /golden loveliness and why? Because someone resisted swapping out their John Wick silver for some Kookaburras that's why! And then where will we all be? We'll be looking to get obsessed over something else that's what. Don't peel that curtain back, just keep on swapping ... or this ...
  23. A ... Chinese auction ... on Facebook? For gold sovereigns? I can't see how it went so wrong.
