I guess like Dave has said, buy what you like.
My suggestion, and what I think a sensible and satisfying purchase for around £4k- £4.5k would be taking your time in seeking out a nice raw 1911 George V Coronation 10 coin Set.
With an issue of only 952 sets, there’s lots of potential of upside in years to come.
If you manage to purchase a decent set, with an exceptional Sovereign that grades Ultra Cameo, that one coin would provide you the remaining  9 coins for ‘free’ (currently only 9 1911 Sovereigns designated Ultra Cameo).
A dwindling amount of decent raw sets remain out there (possibly because the larger 12 coin sets are plundered for the 5 & 2 Sovereigns).
This set gives me a lot of enjoyment of ownership.  I got lucky grading the Sovereign & Half Sovereign.

2022 Gold £5 Quintuple Sovereign Brilliant Uncirculated Matt Finish-  Photos
I got to see these last week, and here are some photos:

It may not be easy to discern from the photos that these are matt finish, but comparison with a bullion version gold sovereign or double sovereign would make it obvious.

The matt finish does look better, and is likely to add to the long term appeal of these coins.

Now, if only they were in yellow gold!

The 2018 10 oz Valiant coin is a fantastic thing, in my opinion.  I have four 10 oz silver coins and the Valiant was the first one that I bought.
The subsequent Valiant coins are quite nice, but not a patch on the 2018 coin in my opinion.
    Gratuitous large silver coin/bar photo!

I would steer clear and buy a proper sov from the forum for £50 less

If the photos aren't clear you will probably get more chancers willing to take a risk to get a perfect coin if they can't see the flaws. However you run the risk of getting into disputes if you're taking bad photos to hide flaws, you're better off taking a decent photo and waiting for a buyer that is happy with the coin as it is with all its flaws.
Also sell on here instead of eBay.

    Horses for courses.
If I’m buying modern proofs or SOTD sovs on the secondary market I’m only buying graded (70) ones. Couldn’t really care about the OMP if I’m honest as it’s not particularly deposit box friendly. I’m shallow as a puddle though and clearly a slave to the grading system.
If you’re looking at it from a resale angle for modern proof and SOTD sovs, I think generally speaking that getting 70 grades usually help resale value, 69 usually sells for around the same as what the raw coin would, and anything less is probably not going to be very helpful to the value of your coin. Bit of a gamble really.
If you’re asking from purely a collecting point of view then I would argue it just comes down to your personal preference.

Happy for the lucky people that got one!

I was awake since 3 am (EST)(8 am UK) with the page ready to go since I thought the Royal Mint was going online with the sale at 9 am GMT...
    9 am GMT/ 4 am EST nothing...
Then I searched what time George VI actually died ... apparently 10:45 (GMT)... so I stayed awake more 2 hours... Royal Mint, nothing...
So I went to nap, refreshing the page every hour or so... at 9:34 am (EST) I am 2800 on the cue.
Result: No coin (off course) and huge headache! 🙈
Ordered a 2022 1/2 Sov Proof from Chards... not the same thing for sure, but low mintage at 4310, I will treasure it!
    Whining over (for now)! 😛

I believe @dioarnis referring to the set containing the bullion 2002, 2012 and 2022 sovereigns for £1800.

I would suggest £1800 is a lot for three bullion sovereigns, special reverse or not.
