I'm no expert but I do believe this is a rare piece. I think you may have found a bargain, assuming it's a full sovereign.

Fair warn though, I am a noob and you should look to more experienced people before you commit.

Hi, I think it is indeed the Gibraltar sovereign 2021, sold on forum in few occasions with magnetic capsule and certificate at prices between £365 and £385 each, with SD included. Not very popular, but in my opinion a nice one.

I will use two pictures made by @Dazzlinh for his sale. I have not asked him for permission, so if he will be upset on me for using his intellectual property, I will apologise and I will remove immediately his pictures.

As seen in photo, I don't know my sovereigns well enough to know if that's a bargain or not.

Pardon the quality of the photo, I imagine it's enough to get the job done though

Your topic title says

"ID on this sovereign?"

but you seem more interested in its value.

For its ID, why not ask at the pawnbroker or jeweller whose window you saw it in, and ask to see the other side of the coin.

It will probably say TDC, for the ubiquitous Tristan da Cunha, but possibly Guernsey, Jersey, Solomon Islands, Gibraltar, etc.

It would be better with its original box and certificate, which is likely to mention London Mint Office, Hattons of London, CPM, Westminster, H&B, or other CMC who pump this stuff out, and almost never buy back.

I guess most TSF members would only pay about intrinsic for it, some more, some less.

There was a 4 coin set graded at 70 on eBay, buy it now that went for £1050 including 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 as well. so I don't think you're going to be retiring anytime soon with that raw sov.

It isn't that one stefan, but likely a very similar variant

I like to buy the pre-dip dip
