  1. Good afternoon Silver Forum members, I have started to collect the Queen's Beast 1 oz silver proof coins in 2017 but I did not manage at the time to buy 4 of them... I have acquired a(nother) Lion of England 2017 recently and, I am willing to swap it preferentially for a White Horse of Hanover (2020) or a Yale of Beaufort (2019) same mintage quality - 1 oz Proof in Silver FDC. I have the coin in the original Royal Mint box with CoA. Photographs below. Sincerely, F
  2. Hello all, Some Britannia 2022 Silver Proof coins are again available on the Royal Mint website... 1oz, 1oz reverse frost, 2oz (both regular and Britannia through the ages). Best, F

  4. Thank you all for the feedback! I have another (annoying) question: 1851 half-sovereign - moderately uncommon versus scratches marks. It seems to have still some shine in it, the hair above her hear is a bit flat and there are clear marks, scratches/wear on the open fields... Price proposed £214. Would this coin be a potential go, or a potential pass? 🤔 half1851vic.tif.ziphalfshield1851.tif.zip
  5. @sovereignsteve - My mistake the Half Sovereigns are at £214, sorry... Thank you sovereignsteve and LawrenceChard!
  6. Hello all, Sorry for my disappearance... Mix of busy with work, getting all the coin images and managing family dealings so I can "rescue" these coins... If I was home I would have just finished the deal myself... 🙊 I have no way of testing the veracity of the coins since I am across the pond and my family does not have the knowledge to discern either. By looking at the images, I naively think that they "look genuine"... I do not think that there are specific varieties or major 1 inversions, A instead of V's etc. They are all Type 1A Young Victoria except one that I have seem Type 1B 1869 half-Sov die 23. The seller is pricing the Sovereigns at £406 and the 1/2 Sovereigns at £406 (independently of the year). Some coins have clear wear, hairlines, edges, sometimes scratches, one has a vampire bite in the neck... I genuinely would like your "brutal" input (@GoldDiggerDave, @LawrenceChard, etc) if you reckon these are worth acquiring and which you would prioritize based on their apparent state. Currently, my budget is limited so I cannot acquire the bulk of it... Struggled to compress and get all images in, hopefully they will still have a decent resolution... 7. @Midasfrog - Sure, the price I am getting the 1842 Sovereign is £406. I hopefully will also get 3x 1/2 Sovs from 1846, 1851 and 1855 (and before you ask 😋🙊 - £214 each). ☺️
  8. @HerefordBullyun - Nope! 😋🙊
  9. Thank you all for your input, you are great! Yes, I feel a bit paralyzed in my choice but, I think picking best quality trumps rarity!
  10. Good afternoon Silver Forum community... I have came across 1 Young Head Victoria Gold Sovereign 1860 - condition around Fine 15 and another 1 Young Head Victoria Gold Sovereign 1852 - condition around Very Fine around 35. Price is similar - I want both but I am not sure if I can currently afford it. I have gone through the Marsh book and 1860 seems "Scarce" at app 2.56M mintage, while 1842 is "Normal" at 4.8M mintage... If you had to pick one, how would you advise me? Best!
  11. Happy for the lucky people that got one! I was awake since 3 am (EST)(8 am UK) with the page ready to go since I thought the Royal Mint was going online with the sale at 9 am GMT... 9 am GMT/ 4 am EST nothing... Then I searched what time George VI actually died ... apparently 10:45 (GMT)... so I stayed awake more 2 hours... Royal Mint, nothing... So I went to nap, refreshing the page every hour or so... at 9:34 am (EST) I am 2800 on the cue. Result: No coin (off course) and huge headache! 🙈 Ordered a 2022 1/2 Sov Proof from Chards... not the same thing for sure, but low mintage at 4310, I will treasure it! Whining over (for now)! 😛 F
  12. Good evening Silver Forum community, I am a newbie in the Forum! I have been collecting coins since I was a teenager (thanks to my grandpa), getting into the silver and gold one since 2014. I would say I am more a collector than a silver/gold hoarder, although the current times may be asking for a bit of silver/gold stacking! Happy to learn more from you and have great interactions! Have a pleasant weekend! fmadmarq
