My experience is that people who have obtained qualifications while working (E.g accountants) are far more effective than those who obtained degrees, then masters then Doctorates before going into a work environment. Engineering, physics and maths are a notable exception to this
Something in this i guess. I completed my PhD while working full time with a small biotech company in Cambridge - tough 4.5 years!

Agreed. Even people with Ph.D.s don't always appear to be particularly intelligent.
It might make a difference if you wrote what you learnt instead of learnt what you rote. 🙂
Do Chinese universities offer junk shipbuilding courses?
I'd like to stick up for some with PhDs that may have some intelligence but also common sense!

What you needed @LawrenceChardis someone who does microscopy of cells and analysis of those images for a day job. Plenty of life science students around could build a simple workflow to take the image and count the ridges using software like ImageJ or Fiji.

From your photo the one of left looks like a well circulated coin. The one on right (shiny) could simply be a newly circulated coin from a sealed bag from bank and stored away or from a bunc set and found its way into circulation.

That is kind of what I was thinking, however the strike doesn't look proof like in anyway.
Maybe from an BUNC set rather than proof?

Hey guys, I wanted to share an observation, Or something I realised after I got into flipping gold coins etc, That is south Asians as a community and the Importance of gold.
In countries like India, Pakistan & Bangladesh etc., people don't trust banks or have access to banking ( Govts are pushing people to deposit their funds into banks ), but still, they refuse to do so.
Reason? People are used to using gold as a form of investment, which has been going for centuries. For example, when south Asian's get married, guess what are the most valuables present newlyweds get? Gold jewellery and that is passed on from one generation to another...
I was born in South Asia. Since my childhood, I have seen people using gold as an investment portfolio. And it is mind-boggling. People with no financial education, No market knowledge or access to any resources, Yet are sage investors.
I so know about this. Unfortunately those very nice family members that gift us gold, give any kind even jewellry sovs. Some time this year i will be converting all my "fake" but real gold sovs & coins to real sovs....

It would be a particularly good presentation set if you have collected all 10 QBs in 1/4 oz gold, and then added the 1 oz completer coin in the middle.
Tempting!
I've kind of gone with this - 10 QBs 1/4oz gold bullion version with 1 oz gold in proof for the QB completer!

Ha thanks @LawrenceChard
Actually in my family network, most people treat these as gold gifts (ie what weight "guinea" are we gifting) and dont even think of these becuase of the sovereign design. There are so many of these lurking away.
even the restrike for the veinte pesos?
