Got my order in with a geezer from Blackpool!

Initially joined RM queue at 9am and suprisingly only 4.5k-ish folk in front. Was expecting a much higher number, so either I got somewhat lucky with the rng and/or the Tuesday launch threw people off and/or no one is really that fussed for an extra expense so close to Christmas.

Lost my nerve with the RM website though before getting in, heard too many horror stories about the site coming unstuck and that's a hassle I don't need so binned them off and headed to Chards.

I'm a sucker for the Lighthouse Quadrum caps, to me they look sexy AF 😋

The only setback I've faced has been of my own making. My intentions were to buy a sovereign per month...but those sneaky dealers often offer better prices if you buy 2 sovereigns at the same time, so I would find myself holding out in order to get a better deal. Then I'd see there's an even better discount to buy 4 at the same time, leading me to a crisis of conscience - do I buy now to satisfy my greed for the shiny, or do I hold off until I save up enough to get the quantity discount....arg!!

Picked up this bad boy today, 14.43g of .925 sterling silver

If I keep stacking at my current rate I'll only have to wait....11 and a bit years until I can quote in kilos. It's good to have a target to aim for though right And after that I'll stick with kilos until I have to move up to square metres!

I ordered on Thursday evening, and the parcel turned up on Saturday lunchtime. I guess it depends where you placed the order as each dealer will have different stock and staffing levels etc.

In regards to OP's conundrum I say go for it! I've picked up all three sizes, I'm not sure there will be any premium in the future when/if I come to sell, but it is a pleasure to be able to line them up next to each other. Side by side, there's not that much difference between the half and the full, sure the half is smaller and thinner but only slightly so. No where near the difference between the double and the full.

Be warned though, if you do pick up a half then you may find yourself having to buy two just so that you don't have a stack of X.5 sovs...that's what happened to me. Needed to round it up to a nice whole number by buying a second half so that I could sleep at night!

Thanks! My car is booked a service and MOT next month, that might throw a spanner in the works haha but will keep on doing what I can!

I started the year wanting to pick up at least 1x 2022 sov per month, so far so good!

The gold is giving me serious Watership Down vibes and I'm not sure why...maybe something to do with the...rabbit perhaps?

In seriousness though, the silver is a fantastic design and certainly the most realistic but there is something about the stylistic design of the gold that I kinda like.

Looks like 1,234 maccaronis to me, aka a slack handful.

It's a fascinating story, one that my family have been researching for several years after finding out about it whilst looking into our ancestry.

Heptonstall, where David is buried is a lovely little village - and is also the resting place of Sylvia Plath - well worth a visit on a sunny day for a wander around and a pint.

Nice! I work with a guy who is Romanian and we were actually talking about the leu the other day (or lei in this case being plural), so it's nice to see what they look like.
