I'm not saying they are inaccurate, it could be me.

I have the same for 1989, 2002 and 2012 but for the others;

2005   5011

2017   5150

so who knows?

Hopefully someone can clarify it for us.

I know we are all counting the hours down til Monday morning....just interested if anyone has any thoughts on the Platinum Jubilee silver 50p? Will it have the same reverse design as the gold sovreign?

Regards

I'd like to know that also. Not sure if anything other than a new portrait has been confirmed? Looking forward to that one though

I have only recently got more interested in gold coins, before it was mainly historic silver coins so I have never really paid that much attention to sovereign releases as they come out till this year, so is there any set pattern to the bullion release time e.g. is it brought out on the same day as the proof or is it typicaly later, does it change year on year?

Well I'm excited, I would have loved to see a re-worked JBM shield.  (Hope Mr Chard is okay with me borrowing his picture 😀

I'd go nuts for modern branch mint sets or die numbers.

Good luck Monday guys!

This is intriguing. I do wonder whether it's necessary to have household limits. Looking at the previous mintages and considering the demand has never been higher, I'm going to assume there'll be a limit. But that's just my guess. Maybe the mintage will be higher this year? We all hope not but hope we get what we're after at the same time 😂

2002 sovereign 20,500

2005 - 15,458

2012 - 8,158

2017 10,500

Perhaps the design will be unappreciated, like 1989, and it won’t sell out 😂😆

Guess we won't know until Monday if it's a good deal, price and mintage wise compared to the 2002/2005/2012/2017...saying that Gold spot prices were lower.....if like me and don't have the funds like others on here...I'm not sure which one I will purchase...that time of year..we have the Platinum gold sovereign - Silver platinum jubilee 50p coming out... and in a few weeks the Great Engravers Gothic Crown, plus Christmas its going to be an expensive couple of months for some..others who have the funds, well won't matter to them..lucky people 😀 😉 😊 😄

I'm not that fussed about the 2022 platinum jubilee sov tbh.....after Monday.....when the hype is over everyone will be talking about the Gothich crown release... dont get me wrong I will be trying to get some denomination of the 2022...but I think the real collectors will be more focused on the GC.....For those who have the funds to buy the 2022 sets, proof sovs etc good luck and wish you well..personally I'm waiting and holding my money back for the GC's....I believe they will be more desirable and sought after much more  than the sov on Monday.....🙂

I have not made many comments on the 2022 proof sovereign, I don't want to be accused of breaking embargoes etc. What I would say is that this sovereign is the most discussed and in demand sovereign that I can remember. We have entirely sold out of our allocation and could easily have sold double so Monday morning is going to be interesting when the doors open at the Mint.

I have not heard the mintages from any official source, but people talk and I have been told the Full Sovereign could be around 11,000. no idea about the sets. No news at all about any new portrait so you can guess from that its the standard JC.

Having only got in to gold in the last year the experience of waiting for this soverign is pretty exciting... watching the rumours flow is like watching transfer window rumours in football!

I have a few nice pieces, mainly through what I've learned on this forum, I obviously missed the queen's beasts....but have picked up a few bits retrospectively, I am collecting the myths and legends, I thought the tudor beasts would be my first "collector/investor" pieces but I hate the design.

I'm lucky enough to be in the position to make a few investments and have some fun with them and this soverign launch has me excited... rambling post to say this forum is pretty fun, I've learned a lot, you've cost me a lot of money and your influence will rape my bank account on Monday!!! But hey, ultimately we will all make money off this long term....hopefully

I'm guessing it all comes down to mintages..its going to be a special coin but if the RM flood the market with proofs, surely it will devalue the coin??

Having watched Mint tactics with mintages, they have sneaked them up a little on a lot of issues this year. This years snowman 50p goes to 300 instead of 275, they put slightly more on the 3 graces as opposed to the Una so they will continue the same route, and add a few but it won't be huge hikes.

From comments and threads it seems Allgoidcoins has obtained some inside information as to the design and mintage of the coins and denominations as they have been taking pre-orders for over a week now.. which would be risky if they didn't have some information about this release.....could be wrong but with comments that I've read and the fact AGC are taking pre-orders makes one suspicious that they have alledgedly been informed of the upcoming release of these sovs,or taking a gamble....or do have inside information on these sovs..if I was a gambling man which I'm not....I'd know which one I'd be placing my money on....🤔🤔🤔

As I said previously on this thread we had an allocation of 2022 Proof Sovereigns which we offered for pre-sale. We are not selling items we have not already secured and actually paid for.

I am not going to accuse any respected bullion dealers of any misconduct or profit taking.  I have though observed dealers advertising certain coins and sets on Fleabay for over £1000 more than they are selling on their websites..mentioning no names....which I find despicable and unprofessional....but that's the way of the world...making money and taking advantage of gullible buyers who will pay without doing research to the fact they could purchase these PM's cheaper if they took the time to do some research.....more fool them.

Regards.

In fairness to @Allgoldcoins I believe they guarantee they wont be more expensive than the royal mint??

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

You have to bear in mind that fleabay charge @16% in fees so a 5k set needs to sell for 5750 just to get the same back. I would always encourage buyers to shop around and avoid buying via online auction sites as the costs are prohibitory expensive. A 5 coin set would need to be nearly 5.5k just to get back the RRP.

I'm not saying that..what I'm saying with confirmation certain dealers sell all kinds of Gold/Silver coins on EBAY....for higher prices than the do on their own websites....and that comes down to chancing their arms that they will get more money for their PM's especially from overseas buyers than they would on their websites...its a fact....I don't agree with this exploitation of gullible buyers but to an extent I can understand their practice.....Get as much money as you can for your merchandise...

Yeah I see your point and have witnessed many ludicrous prices over there but then you have to factor in the fees they have to pay.

Personally, I have to commend those dealers who, it seems. have put their entire allocation up for pre-sale for prices at or just below the RM.

It is the dealers who ramp up their prices on issue day having sold a couple of coins, as soon as it is apparent from observing the RM website that the coins are in demand. The Americans have a word for it that I can't recollect at the minute🤨

These are dealers I would never buy from.

That's True.....ebays fees are disgusting....what I'm trying to get across is..all those who don't realise they can go to dealers and  of course pay a marginal increase over the issue price..go on ebay and pay around 16% more for the privilege instead of going to the dealer.

That's there mistake but dealers take advantage of the world wide selling market on fleabay to advertise their products and mark up their PM's to get back the selling fees when most take advantage of ebays £1 max selling fee's or 80% off final selling fees bit don't pass that onto the buyers...Its business but not good business in my view.
