Usual story they tax you when you earn and then tax you again on your already taxed money when you buy... worse than the mafia, makes my blood boil

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table at which he's fed. Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes are the rule. Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway! Tax his cow, Tax his goat, Tax his pants, Tax his coat. Tax his ties, Tax his shirt, Tax his work, Tax his dirt.
Tax his tobacco, Tax his drink, Tax him if he tries to think.  Tax his cigars, Tax his beers, If he cries tax his tears.  Tax his car, Tax his gas, Find other ways to tax his ass.  Tax all he has, Then let him know, That you won't be done till he has no dough.
When he screams and hollers, Then tax him some more, Tax him till he's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in which he's laid. Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom' When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply the inheritance tax.

According to salivation the Indian Government is earning a lot of money from gold imports, no they're not Governments NEVER earn any money they only ever steal it.

Is it ? 🙄🤔 I always thought it was @James32 who owned 11% of total world reserves ?? 😬

I'm reporting you for incorrect facts its at least 35% of the worlds  gold

Buying Fomo for gold kicks in while it's rising and at a peak , everyone wants it 🤔

Nobody wants to buy gold when it's dropped back after a peak and is in the best buying position 😆

Oh we all want to....its just a question of whether it's going to slide further.

I think those looking to buy know that as the economy tightens there will be bargains to be had so keeping hold of cash may be the best idea. You can see it in the sales threads here, desirable coins like queens beasts are struggling to sell even with lower premiums.

I doubt we are at blood in the streets just yet be we are on the way and all those people swept up in Royal fever will be selling those jubilee, memorial and coronation coins they stretched themselves to buy

Not the end of the world as long as you're using some form of average cost method for your stack/collection; fastest solution - buy some more!!

I dipped my toe in the water again on one or two ltd edition items today I already had pre-orders in for - that bought their average cost down quite pleasingly.

I want to get some 2023 bullion Sovs with spot where it is compared to back in Feb but alas, I'm one of those people who stretched for the proof Sovs above with my bullion funds, imho at least for me, it was worth it.

There are still a few months to save for some Sovs, depending on which direction we slide I may/may not get them at as good a deal...

In the grand scheme of things, either direction won't impact in getting 2 or 3 for the kids this year.

Looking to complete a date run of Bu Sovs and still require; 2010, 2011, 2018 & 2019

I know the feeling, I got a bit caught up in the recent proof soverign sets, I think they will be worth it long term.

I have no self control though, only coin I planned for the next few months was the tudor bull and I just blew that money on a beautiful graded gold standard ounce at a price I just couldn't refuse.

Oh well, if my worst problem is having too much gold I can't complain too much

It's not too bad a problem to have to deal with...  I've drawn a line in the concrete, it's harder to move than in the sand.

Funds allocated to house, bills and family etc. first - I only use pocket money saved for 'hobbies' in a separate account.  At £1,492, it's REALLY hard to resist.

after making a transaction to another TSF member recently my bank put red flags put on my bank account and froze it, I then had to spend hours on the phone to un freeze it. I also know that he had similar problems on his end from his bank. Never had this buying anything else. Seems strange

Mate I think we have all had that, think @katyc recently had the same issue.  I had it every single time I tried to pay the Royal Mint directly form an account where my PAYE wage got paid into so there was zero issues about where the money came from  and where it was going.     It's very strange indeed that moving a few grand around is treated as contraband and it's not as if it's a lot of money nowadays.

Nationwide made me jump through hoops buying my last five sovereign for £2650 the other month - first time this has ever happened to me in 100s of purchases/sales - i thought nationwide were the good guys, evidently not :(
