MLNCoins got a reaction from GoldDabbler in GOLD DEALS - (UK & Europe) See a deal, post it here
True and I understand this, however I wanted to give a balanced view to the question asked, as everyone has said they haven't had any issues, so I didn't want @GoldDabbler to order one, then be disappointed after everyone's recommendations.

Honestly, they aren't bad, it was more of the flexible request I asked for that was turned down that peeved me a little I guess. Also the link they sent doesn't really back them up in their logic.

I have seen it yet this is first I've experienced, I'm aware I'm anal but if it was me I'd look for that sort of stuff, it makes the difference.
@GoldDabbler I will say though the packaging is great, discreet and you get a call once funds have been received so please don't let me cloud your judgement

They sent me a scratched 2022 bullion sovereign, and are unwilling to replace when they have stock. Here's the full conversation for full transparency:
    Hi there,
Thank you for fulfilling my order last week. I've had a bit of time over the weekend to take a look at the coins and I can see there are what look like scratches on the queens cheek on one of them. I'm aware that you're out of stock of these at the moment but would it be possible to exchange one in better condition, when you have stock again?    If you could let me know my options, I'd really appreciate it.   The reply   Hello Max.

Thank you for your e-mail. The coins we sell are bullion coins, so they ought to have some imperfections and minor scratches. The Royal Mint has an explanatory website for this https://www.royalmint.com/discover/coin-collecting/striking-standards/.

For this reason we are unable to exchange the coins as they are all going to be similar quality.

    Kind regards,

    Priit Rinken

A bit of a shame, especially with new coins, so be mindful of this when ordering new stock. As it looks like they don't QC their new coins.

I left a fair review to reflect the experience.

As I said I would here is my end of year full stack photo. Although modest I'm quite pleased with how it went this year, considering starting in April.

Absolutely gutted! Just called the Royal Mint for an update on both my 4 and 5 coin sets, which had recently moved from open to completed... They cancelled the orders!!!
I was only calling for an update on delivery - there was no email, or call explaining. Just cancelled! They hinted that it was because I had exceeded the household limit, but would not confirm.
The operator was friendly and sympathetic, and has promised that I will receive an email tomorrow to fully explain the cancellation.
He also stated that there is no way for them to fix/reorder, as the 2022 proof sovs have been fully allocated.

I can imagine they would re-strike it. They already have the dies and it wouldn't make sense to sell it at a discounted rate when you have the tools in house to fix it. Could be wrong though.
Yeah thanks. To be honest I'm taking the ancient stoic approach of not letting it bother me. They said they would replace it and I trust they'll do just that. It's just a shame that it goes this way for so many, when the problem itself is easily fixable.
I'm not sure what they meant about the 1%. I'm guessing that it means for the immediate returns they have that allocation available. Once the returns die down they'll probably re-strike the ones that are faulty and sell them on. Again this is a guess/speculation but it would make sense taking this approach.

Received my sovereign yesterday, going straight back. Capsule opened in transit and spots/marks on obverse. Such a shame.
RM have confirmed they have held back 1% of stock for returns FYI.

Sorry to see the way you're coin arrived!!
As for their confirmation of keeping back 1% stock , that's very conflicting as another few members further up the thread were told they will restrike the coins?? Anyroad 1% ain't going to cut it going by the rate of returns.
Hope you get a resolution soon👍

I have quite an interesting half sovereign that I picked up on the forum a while back. An 1877-M wide ribbon half sovereign (S-3863), part of a mintage of 80,000 but only thought 20,000 ever minted of the wide ribbon. Only about 50-60 examples still exist (apparently). Its completely battered so not worth more than BV unfortunately but I'll see if I can find you some photos.

It is frustrating to say the least for many, my Dad who is a collector really wanted one but had the same payment issues as everyone else, I was lucky to get one so I think I'm going to split the cost of mine with him. Money is just a number .

MLNCoins reacted to ChrisSilver in Royal Mint - The Three Graces - FREE Grading - LIMITED Offer. + Special Offer Auction fee
    Grading

How much is this grading offer worth?

NGC are charging the grading tier cost based on the secondary market value and not the initial retail value of the coins. This means that TSF's offer to cover the cost for 1x 2oz Gold Coin, cost of grading is worth £265! Due to the high value of the coin. And the offer for 5x silver coins (either 2oz or 5oz) where the grading cost is worth (£23 to £45) * 5 = £115 to £225 (as cost is dependant on which tier NGC value the coin in)

Meaning a total value of £380 to £490 that TSF is covering the cost of!

    What is the offer?

Any Premium Member wishing to grade their Royal Mint, The Three Graces Coin with NGC.

TSF will pay the full grading cost, of the Modern / Standard NGC grading service in the TSF branded label, for the first 5x Silver Coins (either 2oz or 5oz) from (Premium Members) who contact @ChrisSilver to claim this offer. And the first 1x Gold Coin (2oz) (also with TSF branded label) from a Premium Member from the first person to claim the offer.
EDIT: Clarification on what is meant by full grading cost: it is the standard cost to grade the coin with the TSF label included and without any additional extras chosen; such as conservation, ER, FR designation add on, etc. Note that as this is a modern coin, conservation most likely is not needed as it is a service chosen usual for older coins. Member to pay shipping costs as outlined below.
Please comment below or Private Message @ChrisSilver to claim the offer. After it is confirmed you are entitled to this offer you must dispatch your coin(s) to @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions before the 13th March 2021.

The only cost you would need to pay is the shipping price to @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions, and the return shipping cost should you wish to return the coin to yourself rather than auction through COR. To confirm, any members who chose to auction their coin(s) through COTR, TSF do not receive any commission, but we previously negotiated special discounts on the grading fees for all Premium Member groups, to see the ongoing discounts please see this topic and scroll to the part titled 'Selling'.

To confirm, to claim this offer you do not need to submit to the COTR auction and can return the graded coins back to you, wether to keep the coin in your collection or to sell elsewhere. TSF will cover your grading costs!

This could also be a great way if you are thinking of submitting it to an auction or selling on eBay to also help out by brining more awareness of The Silver Forum, as it has a TSF branded label. Grading the coin may add additional value to it, especially if it achieves a high grade.

Special Discount submitting this coin to auction.

@CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions have kindly offered all Premium Members a reduced auction selling fee of only 5%! When submitting the Royal Mint, The Three Graces coin to auction before the end of June 2021. (so around 4 months time from when this topic is posted, this allows more than sufficient time for any graded coins to be returned) note that you can also set the starting price of the auction at the minimum price you are willing to get for your coin, so it is effectively risk free

EDIT: Offer on gold withdrawn and offer extended to the additional premium members who showed interest. So 10 members in total, offer now closed.
