Oh I ordered something off of Amazon yesterday and today it arrived, twas a nice feeling having something actually come the next day.

The driver didn't bother knocking though. Looked at tracking and it was delivered, left in front of the door 🤷

That's the problem.  It's a race to the bottom with courier drivers.  Its all about the cheapest service to make someone at the top rich. Unfortunately with Amazon drivers they are paid by the number of parcels they get rid of hence they just doorstep most items. If the parcel goes missing its the sender who usually pays up.

it’s not the being paid for how many they deliver, but a lot of independent drivers don’t live close to the warehouse they pick up from, so the last thing they want to do is do a round of deliveries, quite often a fair way from where they live followed by having to go back to the warehouse and drop off anything undelivered. Hence the leave it anywhere attitude.

Not to mention the budget-end of the courier companies don't even have "depots". A 20ft container on an industrial car park is the closest you could get to such a concept.

Buy high. Sell low.

Not all the independent drivers doing Amazon work for themselves, there are actually companies with Amazon contracts, who then employ drivers. There is obviously some money to be made in this parcel delivering business! No wonder Royal Mail want more of that and less letters🤔

Oh of course. As more and more shopping is done online, courier companies are going to be huge business.

We take the postage in for anyone who’s not in on the estate or next estate at work at the moment. It’s hard enough to get them to bring it one time so I have a pile of everyone’s parcels who come and grab when they rock up to work

You wouldn't happen to have some of mine, by any chance?

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

We should have our own TSF postage.   I'm sure we live the full length of the country we could drive a few junctions up and had off at the next motorway service station like a big game of pass the parcel.

I can really imagine that taking off and growing over time once it gets past a critical mass. Of course at some point we'd be noticed and all simultaneously arrested by armed police thinking we were organised criminals moving drugs.
