I have bought my last coin directly from the Royal Mint until I am convinced there has been a change.

same i think, mine came today and its not great either :(

The damage i'm seeing, and from this thread looks for the most part like the coins are thrown into the capsules in a rush.

Received my order this morning and looks a1 on first inspection, which is odd given my luck. (My 1oz proof libertad gold 2015 has decided to develop very red spots since last look)

I actually like the box these SOTD come in, maybe I’m just a peasant.

Just a couple of quick pics for now but I'm seriously impressed and happy to have bagged a completely problem free, beautiful looking coin. If there was something I had to pick at, it's that the coin is very tightly wedged in the hole in the box but other than that.... Every is perfect with the coin and the box. It's even in a screw capsule so I'm over the moon with everything about it.

So I have just opened mine and can also say I’m not overly impressed.

it looks like the unicorn on mine has undergone a triple bypass operation. It’s really noticeable even from the naked eye

Also, the plain edge of the coin is scuffed and the cardboard protective box has a disfigured tab meaning I can’t close it properly.

The reverse looks to be fine and so does the rest of the fields / detail on the obverse.  So it’s a real shame the damage is on such a central part…

What are your thoughts on this? Return or keep, not sure I can be bothered with the hassle just to get a refund

Yes it is, 1100+

Seems it's all higher numbers with bad marks,Not just abit of frosting etc.

Like they started rushing or left metal fragments all over everything and just hammered them into the later coins lol.

So are we in agreement that the first 600 were struck by royal mint on the day, then the rest likely struck by royal mail on route ?

Yes seems so.

I was also disappointed by the quality of the brown outer box this time. I wonder if they would replace that too!
