2022 Sovereign design revealed?

Recommended Posts

thinking this will be a very slow burner and something to hold on to due to the attention its receiving

we see the poor after market sales for the graces (pf70 sold on ebay for £1600) compared to the una because the market was flooded with new buyers getting excited with the huge added value straight after purchasing

i think once this initial fuss is over and in time the prices will increase for this sov, as i see happening to the graces (i hope)

That's True.....ebays fees are disgusting....what I'm trying to get across is..all those who don't realise they can go to dealers and  of course pay a marginal increase over the issue price..go on ebay and pay around 16% more for the privilege instead of going to the dealer.

That's there mistake but dealers take advantage of the world wide selling market on fleabay to advertise their products and mark up their PM's to get back the selling fees when most take advantage of ebays £1 max selling fee's or 80% off final selling fees bit don't pass that onto the buyers...Its business but not good business in my view.

I have tried to get on to the £1 listings they do from time to time but you will find coins are normally exempt from the scheme.

We use the site as shop window and hope to win customers over to our website where we can charge much fairer prices. In time we hope anyone who buys from us on that site will more than make up for one lose.

It does upset me when people think its us taking advantage when the only winner is the auction site. Example 2021 Gandhi Gold Proof on that site for £2990 RRP is £2440, but we lose £450 in fees and it costs £15-25 to post it.

Yeah I agree and has an added factor of being the last jubilee for QE11

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

That's a rip off by ebay....I'm not in your league..I'm not a dealer..I sell only when I get a promotion from ebay....otherwise I don't put anything on for sale as I refuse to pay their fees on a normal non promotion offer.

So why would you sell  when there isn't a promotion offer on? You have to increase the price to get the fees back....to me that doesn't make sense..and the buyers have to pay your fees to cover your costs..I'm not being negative against you I'm just curious as to why you do this..

Regards.

Personally, I have to commend those dealers who, it seems. have put their entire allocation up for pre-sale for prices at or just below the RM.

It is the dealers who ramp up their prices on issue day having sold a couple of coins, as soon as it is apparent from observing the RM website that the coins are in demand. The Americans have a word for it that I can't recollect at the minute🤨

These are dealers I would never buy from.

I think the word you're looking for is Capitalism !? Lol

This will be out on Feb 6 2022 so you here some time to save again. 🙂

If there is a 50p SOTD on Feb 6, I wonder if this means there will not be a sovereign SOTD on this date?  I was assuming there would be a Platinum Jubilee SOTD sovereign on Feb 6.  If there are two SOTDs the minter's right arm is going to drop off!

Sorry if I missed this, but does anyone know if there will be a four coins set? Thanks.

More than likely is my guess.  Problem I can see us having to buy what's available rather than the perfect sets we would like.

That's what makes them valuable. Not everyone will be lucky enough to have one. Too many of them to please people will make them less appealing.

I’m sure coins of the realm were doing the 5 coin set the 3 coin set and  the sovereign and the half sovereign for pre order cheaper than the royal mint. Why wait for release day or are people waiting to see what they actually look like

Just checked there site i cannot see anything

I have only recently got more interested in gold coins, before it was mainly historic silver coins so I have never really paid that much attention to sovereign releases as they come out till this year, so is there any set pattern to the bullion release time e.g. is it brought out on the same day as the proof or is it typicaly later, does it change year on year?

The bullion sovereigns will be much later. Here in Germany they use to arrive in early-mid January, and in the UK not too much earlier.

Half and double bullion sovs should be another few weeks later.

The word you are looking for is price gouging & at the other end of the scale low balling, two favourite American expressions depending on which side of the fence you are.

The problem with common sense is, its not that common.

I have read that someone managed to ore order a sovereign set. Is this true? I rang the mint to ask about this and they refused

A few companies were doing pre-orders if that's what you mean?

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Yeah, I tried to ask the mint about pre ordering and they said it isn't something they are doing?

Allgoldcoins were offering preorders although they've long been snapped up. I think  I saw on another thread though that you can ask to be added to their waiting list if they get a cancellation or non-payment.
