Just received my 2oz Gothic crown today…stunning coin and amazing quality…the best I’ve seen. Very happy with it:)

England, Ireland and Scotland were, and remain, national units, Wales was not and had been part of the crown lands since at least the 13th century. Whereas Ireland had its high kings, and Scotland Kings, Wales had had a myriad of tribal chieftains, but no true national unit . Wales has only recently (in the last 70 years or so) acquired a separate political identity and a Capital City of its own. This is the reason why ‘Wales’ does not feature on the Royal Standard.
