Modest 1 oz Gold Brit purchase thanks to @BleyerBullion, decided the kids are both going to have a Brit set each in a walnut box; after that they can decide what they want to collect in the future. Just 2 gaps to fill now.

It's my birthday today! And I finally got my copy of the Marsh Sovereign Book! Going to have plenty of time to read it too as I have broken my jaw in three places and the whole lot is wired shut. Freak Bike accident. This forum is helping me stay sane. Thanks guys.

Another two beautiful sovereigns dropped through the letterbox this morning.
The 2017 Delhi sovereign, which is magnificent. I have promised to keep the source anonymous and will always do so. I do love the modern Delhi sovereigns because they are still using the original gold composition of "yellow" gold, not the rose gold the RM is usings these days. Much more attractive on the eye even when viewed through the tamperproof packaging.
The second is a 1931P picked up from a French company via MA Shops. Another off for grading sometime next week.

A little late but I received this very nice bar from @Jamesd last week.
A great bar and I’m happy to be one of the first buyers of his bars.
I wish him the best of luck in his new venture.
Keep them coming!!

Not exactly precious metals, but not particularly cheap either!
A pair of 1.5-inch solid metal cubes.
The tungsten one weighs exactly 1kg, which feels unearthly heavy for something so small (unless you happen to have a 1kg gold bar!). In contrast, the aluminium (sorry, aloominum) cube feels unfathomably light and it's hard to believe it's not hollow.

MickB got a reaction from kimchi in Why don't they sell and buy like before?
My local bullion dealer was telling me that hardly anyone is selling gold or silver coins to him lately and was unsure why. Same for the market stall trader. Quiet times.

MickB reacted to dicker in James Bond 2 Kilo Gold Proof Coin Raffle by The Britannia Coin Company
I have seen quite a few articles online where there has been a raffle and an unsatisfactory outcome - i.e. not enough people entered.
Better odds than the lottery but I will skip this one!
If you go to events run by companies and organisations and there are raffles for prizes, these usually have fantastic odds. I won a week's salmon fishing in Iceland about 10 years ago in a raffle that was at a charity ball. Tickets were a fiver and there were perhaps 300 people attending. Thats good odds 🙂. I fly fish so it was a perfect win.

There’s probably a higher chance of winning this than dare I say it, The Postcode Lottery. 😬

It turned out better than the previous casting anyway. The Brick will soon be heading home to its new owner 😀

MickB reacted to dicker in Defect, Faulty Production or Mint Error — The Queen's Beasts The Griffin Of Edward III 1oz Silver Proof Coin
A chap at the mint was likely finishing off one of his Benson and Hedges whilst enjoying a cup of PG Tips and a hobnob while reading the racing post.
A bit of fag ash or hobnob was probably swept into the press as he perused the runners and riders at the 2:15 at Chepstow.
In all seriousness, it is one to send back - quite how this passed Kwality Kontrol, is not surprising but disappointing.
