BullionBuyerUK got a reaction from ZigZag in Tavex Bullion
Following on from the deal posted on the gold/silver deals last month, I took the plunge in between Christmas and new year and purchased some things from tavex bullion. On the deals thread there were a few people who were interested in buying from them but unsure due to their recent arrival to the UK market, so I'd thought I'd share my experience.
So I managed to buy 10 silver britannia's, a 1oz gold Britannia and a queen Victoria sovereign.
The Silver brits all came in coin capsules, they look to be free of any dents, scratches or damage, and are all minted in 2021. But nearly all of them do have heavy milk spotting. Now I'm not an expert on milk spots, but this package was held up with royal mail for over a week and I'm wondering if being stored in a cold sorting office/van has contributed to the milk spotting as I've not got any other coins as heavily spotted as these. I'm not worried though as these are bullion coins going into a coin tube.
The gold Britannia is in perfect condition, again arrived in a coin capsule, minted in 2022 and the only fault I can find with it is the luster of the coin isn't as high as my other 1oz gold brit.
The Queen Victoria sovereign is dated as 1898 and I have to say the condition of this 124 year old coin is absolutely fantastic. Apart from a few very light surface scratches (from cleaning maybe) the coin it's self is absolutely lovely. Didn't come in a coin capsule, but well packaged.
The packaging of the coins was great too. Arrived in a jiffy bag, 2 boxes with foam packaging cut out to hold each coin. On the whole apart from the milk spotted silver brits there is nothing I can complain about. I was invoice number 180 odd, so going by that I'm guessing they are slowly picking up customers. I'll be sure to buy from them again. Hope this helps anyone who was in 2 minds about purchasing from them.

I've just ordered 2. I've just spent 30 minutes trawling the Web to find a discount code that works, but sadly nothing out there. But still a to good to miss price without a discount code

The SOTD is back available at Chards. Just had an email saying £790, but it's currently listed at £715. At a modest rise from RRP, that's still a great deal right?

Interesting, I too bought Brits just before Christmas I think, I managed to get them at £23.01, so just missed the dip under £23.
What I did was reference it against the same number of Brits on Chards and it was at an equivalent of needing to purchase 500+, so was happy that I had saved a few pennies

Yes that's a great deal still, I actually had them in my basket at 1 point for £22.98 but I also wanted a gold britannia and a Victoria sovereign. So I waited until the gold price came down, unfortunately the silver price went up, but I still saved £14 on the gold brit and nearly £2 on the sovereign. So saved more money in the long run

I bought 10 brits from them on the 28th of December, I think spot was around £17.05, I ended up paying £23.17 per coin in the end. I noticed even before this Christmas deal was over that when spot went below £16.90 they put the price of each coin up by £1 to take the coin back over the £24 mark. They kept this price hike until the spot when back up again.

I should have elaborated more, I used my Amex card for ebay. I bought a 3 coin proof sovereign set, and a 1/2 oz britannia so far. Companies like bullion by post, britannia coin company etc are on ebay.

Although not a deal on gold, I decided to use it to buy my gold.
On the nectar card app, under financial services they are offering 20,000 nectar points when you take out and spend £2000 in the first 3 months on a brand new nectar American express card. 20,000 points is basically £100 worth of points.
Bullionbypost among others accept American express cards.
