I guess it'll be branded differently. Like all the fuss made over Welsh gold, and the astronomical prices they attach to it. It's still element number 79 at the end of the day, just like the stuff that comes out of the ground in South Africa or Canada. Albeit, perhaps better branded.
Not dissimilar to Bargain Hunt where they lush over a piece of Tiffany and Co, or Georg Jenson silver, but then instantly dismiss something that looks much the same but doesn't have the current in fashion 'brand'.
Imagine how much you could charge for an half sovereign batch struck in Wales made from Welsh gold?
    Hmm now there's a thought.
So artificial gold, if they do pull it off, the production process will probably leave a marker clue of something.
Would governments, who declare to have no interest in gold, but have stockpiles of it, want something that could be massed produced, owned by the masses cheaply and make their holdings crumble in value? It does beg the question, does it not?

    80 pieces of silver.
In fiat, I'll go for £2,314.60 - The 60p is actually quite important I feel.

    Winston Churchill quotes lol.
My favourite Churchill quote was his reply when a snobbish lady stated to him:
"Sir, If I were your wife, I'd poison your drink."
    Winston's retort was:
"Madam, if you were my wife, I would drink it."
I just wish I was as quick witted as that!

To paraphrase Winston Churchill (I think), ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will no longer put 😉

Nickel's too expensive, you've gotta have deep pockets for that.

I don't know I've bagged a fair few cigarette cases below spot.
Can't get Albert chains below spot though, spoons and flatware more variable.
.500 junk silver coins can be got below spot occasionally, more often or not a tad above.
Pre-1920 that isn't totally shot to pieces or utter junk is nigh on impossible to pick up without a premium. But in that instance I tend to play the numismatic market and not the silver one.

I'd start stacking gold at those prices! I've been waiting for $250 gold to come back. But £18 per ounce, I'd be all in.
Conversely, if silver went to £1,500 an ounce, I'd be delighted!

I know I stated it before. But if covid wouldn't send the price up with all the total unknown scenarios in the early days of the pandemic, then I highly doubt WW3 will do it either. After all in a World War silver is the least concern, they'll be after nickel and steel. Remember in WW2, the US removed nickel from the 5c piece during the war for war use and substituted a less useful metal in its place, silver as it would happen.
Makes me wonder why I stack silver tbh? I do it, because I enjoy it.

Is this the old argument about whether Winterfell is in the north? 🤔
Manchester, like Winterfell, is in the north, but it's still a long way south of the Wall and the true north. 😁

Just think, any ordinary Russians who are living under the sanctions in Russia are watching their currency fall. Savings, retirement funds and any wealth they do have... Gone. Which is nothing compared to what's happening in Ukraine of course and those fleeing for their lives.
But any who have physical gold, may preserve their wealth. Those who only have cash, won't have much left at the end of all this.
