Did you take multiple photos and edit them together or all 6 at once?

No, that's a photo of 6 coins taken together without the macro lens.  If you click on it you'll see it's much lower resolution than the individual pics.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

Finally got my one of each monarch sorted (excluding the obvious extremely expensive ones) might go for one of each effigy next.

Next sovereign will either be a young head or Machin

Nice set. Bit of a can of worms going for the other monarchs in similar conditions

As long as they're not cleaned or worn to the bone with a ton of edge knocks, I shall be happy, and then I can always pick up nicer examples later down the line. The young Vic though I shall be trying to get with a lot of detail still in the hair

Yeh I have been tempted by 'cheaper' pre Victoria sovs but so far haven't pulled the trigger. I think it would be far easier to move a high quality example than a poor one plus the joy of owning a nice one would be better than looking at it thinking oh man look how worn it is every time 🤣🤔

Maybe that's just me but like if it's a car it's got to be one of the fastest things going or a cheap run about. I don't want to mess about with anything in between.

More lustre shots

Some recent and not-so-recent acquisitions of some older coins that still show much of the original finish.  These have made an appearance further up, but I'm taking shots with the less diffuse lighting.

Enjoy

I'm sort of tempted to add at least one example of each of the pre-Victoria kings, but decent examples are the thick end of a grand, of which 2/3 is value at risk.  I think as the bullion portfolio expands I can afford a bit of high-premium stuff but I don't think I'd want more than maybe 20% or so of the money to be in high-premium items.

It's probably inevitable in the long run but hard to beat the stacker out of me 🤣

All available bullion years from Young Victoria George & Dragon reverse to today 1871 to 2022

The capsuled sovs are duplicates to show the portrait changes although I didn't show the George V small head for 1929-1932

How splendid! Have you considered doing a full date & mint mark run next?

Shhhh 🤣 Planning to keep buying best value. I will buy other mintmarks if they come up but not chasing them. I'd like a nice example of the Pre Victorian monarchs and ideally keep ticking off the remaining shield years for now
