Thanks :) Still none have been listed to eBay for flipping/quick profits.  I wonder when one will surface

As the original 1839 coin has a mintage of 400, as this is half the amount is should be worth double what the original sells for

So as one sold for £340,000 in 2017, it is reasonable to assume this is now worth £680,000 - i'm not being greedy but will be happy with £675,000 if there are any takers 🤣🤣🤣

If you can wait 180 years I'm sure it will be worth £675,000. 😉

That said I wished I'd have pulled the trigger and bought one in hindsight.🙄

Not sure if this has already been confirmed (sorry if so) but the East India Co. have a gold version which is still for sale.

https://www.theeastindiacompany.com/products/the-2019-five-sovereign-gold-proof-coin/

I can't help but feel that someone may buy this thinking they are getting the Royal Mint version........

The 2 oz gold  seems to be  sold out everywhere except LPM at 10000$ and  the London coin company at 8000£. I am curious to know where the market price will be in the future

To be fair, with the pricing London Coin Company usually use I'm surprised they don't have it listed for higher than £8k

3600£ difference between ebay and LCC site ! But with ebay,  we can have a good deal  by making an offer :P

I think I will take two and  get the 150$ discount Yes !

Seriously, who is going to buy at these inflated prices ??

I really don't understand their economic model

Yes, silver proof is gone from Royal Mint site now for good, too. And just about everywhere else, except for the Coin Connection, which still has them, now for £199.95. Still reasonable compared to eBay prices, some who are over £450 already..

Btw I would really like to know who the regular customers of the London Coin Company are... since their prices are so wildly out of sync with the market (on the expensive side). Granted, they stock almost every release you can think of, but you'll have to really, really want a particular coin if you buy it from them..

They should take pride in everything they do, especially this one!

You must be disappointed @Paul

I've heard that they do re-strike coins, so you will not necessarily be getting someone else's returns.  I know it is a hassle, but I think it would be worth trying to get a perfect coin.  And at £4K it should be perfect.

Wow - so sorry to see this. What an absolute pigs dinner.

The packaging is pretty poor too - which will not have helped. It makes no sense to send out such a valuable item in this packaging...they send out the piggy banks in massive boxes full of poly-shells and they are only worth 95.00. I would have expected large bubble wrap and proper care and attention here - not their usual cardboard fold overs.

Hope this gets sorted soon - not great to have to wait for a long time like this.
