Sorry about the small pictures - the condition is good the veil detail is all there which is often worn off in crown coins and the few £5 sovereigns I have seen. The brooch has some slight wear - the detail is just about visible and not completely worn, again usually one of the first bits of detail to go on these old coins from my limited experience. There is two little edge knocks on the reverse 1 o'clock but no deformation. There is also a small gouge above the cape but otherwise very clean. The coin has no signs of being cleaned which is very good. Can't stand small scratches on a cleaned coin. All in all pretty good mate thanks again!

That's what has put me off buying them, the idea of spending a large amount sight unseen and then it being is subpar condition would really bum me out

Glad the gamble has paid off for you  B)

I like all of then from this side, it's just the other that puts me off

Yes, the dreaded cartoon queen portrait

I still like the polar bears though and can probably get over the horrible portrait if silver drops any further in price. The multiple maple leaves are excellent. May have to grab some of those too. Bullion vault will have to wait.

Received from HGM  Victorian YH shield half sov 1873 (London).  It has a die number of 335, I assume thats what it is

Does this make any difference at all to overall value?

Paid £106 inc pp.

Sadly no, but a nice price if it's anything like decent condition.

Profile picture with thanks to Carl Vernon

Today I bought 5 x Canadian multi maple 1.5oz coins from Abbotsilvercoins.

Put a 1oz maple beside them for reference to the thickness.

I prefer this size coin to the 1oz version as it has a more solid feel to it.

Got them at a great price too. Cheers David :-)
