Today I Received.....

Message added by ChrisSilver

The Today I received section is for private individuals to share items they have purchased for their collection / as part of their investment.

The Today I received section is not to be used for businesses to promote their business. Trade members and those operating as a business in the eyes of the forum are invited to enquire about a Dealer Sub Forum, where you may start your own Today _____ received topic to post your commercial purchases. E.g. The Today Chards Received..... topic.

1/2 Pahlavi coin and a 2003 half sov. Hit 4oz of gold with these. It's not much, but at least it's a buffer should everything go pear shaped. The goal is to have 27oz at retirement..got 20 years to go, should do it.

Good goal to aim for. I'm only at 2 1/4 oz of gold but it's only since joining this forum that I bothered about gold. I did have an original goal of 200 ounces of silver but I'm at 300 ounces now. I've got another 23 years to go before retiring, unless I cash in earlier if the prices go to the moon:-)

Bought on the 2nd July and has just come through.  I think it was a 6 week lead time when I ordered and then couple of weeks from USA and customs clearance.

It is a bit of an expensive tool and probably not needed.  As a collector buying all kinds (bars, rounds, coin) from here there and everywhere, I thought I'd get one to try out.  I have a couple of pieces which seem a little iffy although they pass the usual tests so I'll give it a try on those.

If I bought and sold as often as you I would be after one too. Are you going to go for more speculative eBay pieces now or is the return postage not worth it?

There have been so many never heard of bars and rounds which I've never bothered picking up but now I may just chance it.  This gizmo would help make verification easier.  Return postage could be costly if a lot turn out to be fakes but if it's only the odd one or two, it shouldn't be too bad.

@morezone Just put it through your business, as a business expense job done :)

Already done :) It is actually a legitimate expense too

LOL this was a legitimate business expense as well, I bought this 18 months before I sold my company comes in very handy for messing about with motorbikes  :)

Received 3 HGM half sovereigns today. All bullion grade - Victoria veiled head 1897, George V 1911, George V 1914.

That makes 6 in total now. I used to think half sovereigns were too small but they have grown on me. The other three I have all Edward VII (1906/7/9) so its nice to get some additional variety to look at!

Numistacker, saw your sovereigns from HGM. Are you telling me that they deliver to the US?

No I live in London so they deliver it I pick up.

I also have a vacation home in florida so I am lucky I can have deliveries in either place
