Royal Mail only go up to £2500 insurance without the option to purchase more cover.
Any suggestions for sending >£2500 of gold in the post?

Thank god I didn't dump my (small) Krugerrand stack yesterday; I was in danger of making a profit, which goes completely against my ethos of 'buy high, sell low'.
Usual places are now down around £1375 to £1385 a coin 😕

Like I said in my post, I am also not concerned about confiscation because the government will get to you one way or the other.
But I am concerned about my data getting in the hands of malicious people, or leaking of it online, and now your name and address is exposed as someone who stacks PMs.
Worrying data breaches do happen..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-57932823

Just my opinion....not telling anyone else how to think....but!
24ct Britannias always remind me of chocolate coin from Christmas
22ct Krugerrands just look 'right', how I'd always imagined a gold coin would look like.

The 20oz gold stack,
Can you talk to us a bit more about it?
Did it do well for you, how easy was it to liquidate if so did you do it once ?
Any interrogation from the banks as to where the deposit came from ?
18 Krugs
2 Brits
Bought mainly from Atkinsons and HGM.
Turned up at Atkinsons looking my normal 'extreme-casual' self; pulled 20oz out of my scruffy shorts pocket and flogged the lot.
No issue with Atkinsons as they checked my ID and I also have an account with them; no issue with the banks or HMRC.
Just about broke even on the lot but I hadn't held it for too long, just stacked it over 18 months or so.

Will you go in regularly again? What pieces do you have your eyes set upon? Only gold, or silver as well?
Krugs, only krugs - maybe a Britannia if I have to but it'd have to be really cheap.
Planning on 2 a month, maybe 3 if I can afford it.
Sounds like we all have the same 'Buy High, Sell Low' masterplan then 😄

After selling my 20oz gold stack to finance a house deposit nearly 4 years ago I've just started my new stack!
3 krugs from HGM - caught a dip and got them for just below £1300 a piece. Which I was a bit quicker and could have got them for a little less but there you are 😉
Going by my past 'success' as I'm starting to buy again, I guess this is a good time to sell 😄

Just cleaned Atkinsons out of their last 3 Krugerrand.
FYI: stocks are falling fast of everything...HGM have nothing,
Atkinsons heading that way!Oops...I was only looking at 'pre-owned' at Atkinsons - looks like they've got a fair bit of new stock.... -

x2 Krugerrand
First Krugs I've ever held......must say that even allowing for the couple of gram weight difference, these 'feel' a lot more substantial than Brits.
I think I might stick with stacking Krugs from now on, as long as I can stop the terrible South African accent when handling them and I keep breaking into the Spitting Image song

After a few months away from the game.....I just had to get some new shinies . £2070 inc. delivery.
Never had Britannias before, don't know why but they feel lighter than 1oz silver eagles....luckily I got them from Atkinsons so not worrying they are dodgy
Only thing I wish.....I should have got a couple more! Looked this evening and Atkinsons are sold out and HGM are asking about £10 more per coin plus delivery.

x5 mixed year sovereigns from Attkinsons.
As usual, price matched HGM to save a few pound :-)
Asked for newish coins (>2000) if they have them handy - just cause I like em shiney!
Wait to see what gets delivered tomorrow....

Hi Morezone
Do you have a link to where I can get some of those notes?
Cheers

x4 1oz silver buttons from my Australian supplier. About £14 each - including delivery!! Post took almost a month, but for the price I'm not complaining (it's normally quicker).
Also got a x3 1/10th oz rounds, one for each of my girls. The cases are some spares I had - think they make them look a bit nicer for the kids.

10 bullion sovereigns from Atkinsons
Ordered 'previously owned - any year' via phone.
Price matched HGM, and I asked if I could get years after 2000 if possible, just cause I like them shiney
Got x5 2015 and x5 2016 - all in individual capsules!!
Very happy with Atkinsons, this is the third decent sized purchase I've made from them and 100% customer hapiness each time.

Cheers all
Think I'll be having a drive up to Atkinsons or down to HGM in the next day or so.
