No greyhound track, but there is a fantastic rowing lake.
You might be surprised, but the Lakeside Darts is surprisingly popular with quite a few public schoolboys.  Like most sports, people don't care where you are from or who you are, but get on when there is a shared interest.
I find this particularly with fly fishing - I fish at a lake in the Mids a few times a year and meet everyone from roofers to Judges and all are equal when fishing.  I did once meet a tax inspector, and I made an exception to my normal rules 🙂

In the last 20 or so years, the economic mantra has been to simply borrow, essentially making it someone else's problem in x years time.
Not since Thatcher has a PM favoured balancing the books irrespective of the pain.
Essentially, politicians have realised that borrowing and making life easy for the electorate in the short to medium term keeps them in power.... But there will of course be a day or reckoning....as any individual knows to their cost if they cannot repay what they borrow.

    That comes at no surprise.
Usually, the North of England is always good at accepting Scottish notes - The Geordies have never objected my Scottish notes in my whole experience when down there. Once in Blackpool (at a bar in a hotel), a few times in other cities across the Northern part (Manchester, Leeds and York).
The hastle is too much in London, never will I take down Scottish notes again to that sh*thole.
And by the way, I am sick of McDonalds in England not having Irn Bru, its a complete disgrace! The insult is astonishing. *shakes head*

Anecdote: somewhere in the 1980s or 90s, a couple found hidden under the timbers of their attic a bundle of 20 Mark Banknotes, a couple hundred Mark hidden away by possibly their grandparents. Hidden away for a rainy day. If the cache had only contained the same in 20 Mark Gold Coins...

Me mate Denzil swears by the Peugeot/Citroen motor, he's run them for years. He once put a 2.1(?) in the back of his T2 camper.
Apart from tanks, I hadn't heard of diesels running on oil until I saw a Fiat Ducato 2.8 self destruct when its turbo seals failed.

If you want a good fuel tax dodge look for an old diesel without an electronic fuel pump or direct injection. Run the bugger on part mix filtered used oil/diesel or if you don't mind rebuilding mechanical fuel pumps every now and then (and rolling the dice on cold starts) forget the diesel...
I wish I'd kept my XUD9 Xantia estate tucked away somewhere. Rode like a magic carpet and everything could be fixed with basic tools and foul language. Bliss.
Government scrappage schemes are a scam. They use tax payer money to do it and take perfectly useable vehicles off the road. Grrr, argh etc.

As others have mentioned, selling to dealers is hassle free. I will normally sell privately where possible, but if the margins are good, I am happy to sell to a dealer and have done. I am not a wealthy man, but my day job pays me a better hourly rate than selling coins privately v to a dealer allows. When offered cash in hand, hassle free, I will take it every time if the difference is a few hundred pounds and it would take me hours to sell, have to package and then risk Royal Mail in sending it out - it may sound arrogant, but my time is generally worth more to me than a larger sale price. I think sometimes this notion is not considered heavily enough in the balance.

It would be good enough for me, if I were in the market for silver.
You've dealt with old and new members on here without complaint, on the contrary, members speak highly of you when doing trades.
Use the suggested format if you are unsure of wording. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from you if the product was what I was after, and priced well!!

Let's say I need money fast and wish to liquidate some silver, but it's 11pm and a weekend or my silver is in storage.
If I advertise it here for spot price, it will sell immediately and the money could be in my account within minutes. The buyer can 'trust' that I will post the silver at the earliest opportunity and that they will receive the item(s) that they paid for.
    No dealer 'insults'.
Likewise, I am happy to pay for items that I will receive at a much later date. I do it all the time, it's all about building relationships and understanding TSF feedback system. Your reputation is everything where trade is concerned.

The trouble is, everyone knows too much nowadays. They know all about economics, the banking system, the welfare state, credit lines, Robin Hood, wallstreetbets et al. when all they need to know is how to have fun.
Look, work for 40 hrs a week, go bingo or darts on a Wednesday and have a couple of pints on a Friday.
Take the kids swimming or the park on a Saturday and have a family lunch followed by football on a Sunday.
    Repeat.
Put a little bit away each week and go to Butlins, or Benidorm if you're a manager, in the summer. Maybe hire a caravan in Hunstanton or Newquay, or Whitby if you're from those parts.
Join the Christmas Club in September.
Why does everything have to be so bloody complicated?!
