Would have gone for the 10oz as well but too rich for my blood. Not impressed with the sticker the mint used on the packaging right bugger to remove

Technically I received these yesterday, but they are 10x€20 .900 silver coins ‘Oak’, minted by Monnaie de Paris in 2020 and available for face value.
Each weights 18g, so the silver content is only worth about €10.50 today, but as they are € legal tender in France this is a lower risk play from my side - if silver shoots up they can be sold for silver content, and if not I still have €20. Plus they are well designed and shiny . . .

This is my latest pickup and keeper, a 1943 dated, United States 'Walking liberty half dollar' minted from .900 silver.
This design of coin came out in 1916 and was made unchanged until 1947, three mints made them, Philadelphia (coins with no mint mark) , Denver (a D mintmark) and San Francisco (an S mintmark), some years and makers being rarer than others.
The front of the coin feature the American Eagle walking and the reverse Liberty walking draped in the US flag, the walking liberty design is still used on the 1oz bullion coins, something that puzzles me is why they only had a 1/2 dollar during the war years and not a 1 dollar coin.
    Production for my coin was,
    53,200,000 by Philadelphia in 1943,
The coin seems to be a good strike for the war years and the lustre is really nice on this one, it just has a couple of bag marks on the liberty side but that does not bother me.

2013 RAM Silver Proof "Explorers' First Sightings" -  Tyrannosaurus Roo   The first in the set of three "Explorers' First Sightings" within the Skippy series, this somewhat alarming coin alludes to a 1772 oil painting - "The Kongouro from New Holland" - by the famous equine artist, George Stubbs. His was the first non-indigenous depiction of any marsupial and he based it on the inflated skin of an animal collected from Australia in 1770 during the then Lieutenant Cook's first voyage of discovery.   The absence of a living kangaroo for reference is more than apparent in an image that would seem to better represent some new hellish genetic mutation created by a gullible kangaroo being subjected to a Bill Gates vaccination primed with DNA from a T-Rex and RNA from an Archimedean Death-Ray.   Despite the anatomical inaccuracy, this T-Roo is definitely one of my favourite RAM coins and designer Aaron Baggio has captured the spirit of the original artwork with great sympathy - even if unable to deliver red eyes to this menacing rascal. Personally. I prefer the 2013 Frostie over the Proof. It puts me in mind of the Mexican Libertad.

Hello all.  Have been away a while, as I retired from my career back in march and have been travelling quite a bit enjoying my retirement.  I haven't been purchasing since I retired, but recently bought a few items on the dip.  These were waiting for me when I got home.
1 oz Rand gold bar, and a 2012 Chaco Culture 5 oz silver ATB.  I only need to purchase 5 more of the bullion ATB's to complete the set.

Bought this Platinum Wedding anniversary strike on the day sovereign when it was released by the Royal Mint in 2017. Sent it off for grading to PCGS and it came back PR68DCAM. So it was incorrectly described as a proof coin (it’s brilliant uncirculated so should be “MS” on the holder) and 68 for a new coin is a bit disappointing.
Earlier this year I broke it out of its slab and resubmitted it for conservation & grading in the hope of achieving a better grade. It just came back. The result? Go take a look the video (“Hitting a PCGS  Slab with a Hammer”) on the Coin Struck YouTube channel to find out. There is a link to the channel at the bottom of this post.
