pricha got a reaction from Hunter87 in 1917 Sovereign
A trip to NGC would surely provide the answer. If it was been fiddled with then just return it and ask for your money back, easy . 🤣

pricha got a reaction from modofantasma in Fed up with eBay
Finally got a refund on the coin after almost one month . The seller has 18 negative feedbacks in that time. Not sure how eBay will catch up with the crook but that's not my problem .

pricha reacted to rlingford in New Royal Canadian Mint coins
Hey folks,
Has anyone had a chance to see some of the new royal canadian mint releases of 2oz silver/2oz gold coins in person yet? Talk about premiums being through the roof but they are absolutely stunning for sure.

I have alerted both FRÜHWALD and Sixbid.
I found it slightly odd that Sixbid seem reluctant to receive fake and fraud alerts directly:
"Do you have a question about an auction on Sixbid, lots displayed, buying or selling coins, the status of your bids in an auction or payment for an auction?
Please contact the affected Auctioneer directly."
That's rather like ebay saying contact the seller directly.

pricha reacted to sixgun in Fake gold coin?
This is Golden State Mint design.
https://www.goldenstatemint.com/1-10-oz-incuse-indian-gold-round.html
i note on the indian side at the points of wear, the defects on highest image magnification, appear to have an edge. It made me wonder if it were plated.
Personally if i have a doubt about any coin or bar i leave it.

It is probably not fake.
These are round minted by the Golden State Mint. It is not the official coin minted by the US Mint.

pricha reacted to SilverMike in NGC / NCS Conservation results
We are and we shouldn’t. NCS methods are a trade secret, but I understand there are various legitimate processes to restore a coin that don't damage or degrade its value, but one for the experts especially on valuable coins.
i have had proofs that have suffered from hazing where the coin is dull and the fields no longer reflective (but good underneath), also coins that have dust and grime and also water marks (the later was a 1989 set I bought that had been sat in a box in a damp leaking shed and the coins looked terrible pre conservation - photos attached), they restored beautifully, 3 out of 4 of the coins got 70’s. The box naturally was in the bin.

pricha got a reaction from Foster88 in Selling gold coins on Ebay
Like in all walks of life , eBay is fine until your cross paths with the nutter. The best negative feedback i have read is after someone sold a 1/10th Gold coin . The buyer was outraged because the photo was so good he thought the coin was much larger than it actually was ... 😂

I agree, probably nothing much will happen . Just as well , i don't want to pay £500 plus for a bullion sovereign 😁

9 negatives for Telepon22 now. He really went all out. I'll open my case tomorrow. That's one coin i'll never see. Along with 5 from auction that are stuck with the courier somewhere unable to deliver. . Not been a good week for me. I'm going to stick with the tried and trusted from now on.

pricha got a reaction from watchesandwhisky in Looking for advice for savings
I took out a AVC on my work pension in 1999 . Nothing huge, £3 a week and my employee doubled it. It's current value is £10,000 approx . My mate took one out out in 1992 , 7 years earlier than me. Hes is now worth £30,000 . I am kicking myself, but it shows the power of compound growth .

pricha reacted to Bullionaire in Looking for advice for savings
@watchesandwhisky I know most of your money will be going to house savings, but I would make sure you pay into your works pension scheme (don't opt out). Need to get that compound growth working for you asap to have a decent sum in retirement to live off.

Hi, if you need a car then you need a car. But i got rid of mine 20 years ago and to be honest never looked back . Luckily i live close to work , but i reckon over the years i have saved thousands of pounds. I can't think of a bigger waste of money.

Everything is at an all time high 😆 . My personal view is gold is cheap compared to other assets . But what do i know ?

pricha reacted to TheShinyStuff in Bit of advice
If I was spending £300ish a month solely with an eye on the long term I'd alternate between a sovereign and 10oz silver. Bit of a balance and both easy sells when the time comes.

I love some American Eagles with the purple toning, I wouldn’t mind if Brits toned like that.

It's bullion, do want you want . I have some in the garden the past year in all weather hoping for some nice toning 😂

Doesn’t matter either way mate, it’s just silver bullion. You should do what you want with your coins if it makes them shiny again.
