They are the same bullion Sovereigns you’d usually pick up just in certified packaging. Britannia’s are also available in the same format from 1/10 to 1oz. The blister cards are fairly good quality and contain the coins specifications.

Cheers.
Clicked the link, now every advert on my phone is for engagement rings. If my missus see's it, it's going to cost me a fortune.

After having recently paid circa £180 each for 10 of the 2 oz proof versions, which were sent back due to poor quality and not getting a replacement until mid to late August, and Royal Mint get to keep my 1800 quid in the meantime! Consider yourself lucky! 😉

Hi Guys,
I have another for you, 2019 Matt BU without privy mark not a mention of this, I'll take a closer look at the book.
I believe this was the first day you could get a SYO sovereign. They also sold this sovereign in gift packs that year.

xthomasx got a reaction from Swampy in Sovereign type recommendations for a beginner in these fascinating coins
When I finally decided to invest in gold sovereigns, I went to a major gold dealer here, taking a big wad of fiat with me.
They gave me one each of 'all' sovereign types - 3x Victoria, Edward VII, George V, 3x QE (i.e. no pre-Victoria, no shield back, no George VI, no 1983-2000 QE), so I had something to get aquainted with.
That was for starters; today I have around 150 different sovereigns.

I'm disappointed they didn't use his full title, I imagine the Order of Logohu among others will be pretty miffed and possibly boycott this release: His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, Baron Greenwich, Royal Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, Extra Knight of the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, Member of the Order of Merit, Grand Master and First and Principal Knight Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Knight of the Order of Australia, Additional Member of the Order of New Zealand, Extra Companion of the Queen’s Service Order, Royal Chief of the Order of Logohu, Extraordinary Companion of the Order of Canada, Extraordinary Commander of the Order of Military Merit, Lord of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, Privy Councillor of the Queen’s Privy Council for Canada, Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty, Lord High Admiral of the United Kingdom. -

Yes, very much so 🙂
In the meantime I try to afford more quality (slabbed, proofs, SotD etc.) than quantity, which of course slows down the rise in numbers.

As (almost) ever, the answer is on our website:
https://www.chards.co.uk/1925-gold-sovereign-george-v-london/6021
However, we believe that the restrikes can be distinguished from the originals by the more pronounced rim around the edge of the coin. Despite the lower mintage figures for the restrikes, the high-rimmed restrikes are actually much more common than the low-rimmed originals, due the fact that the originals were melted down in huge quantities for bullion.
I have XRF tested a few 1925-L sovereigns, but this is still an ongoing research project, as and when any low-rims turn up, which is infrequently. Detailed visual inspection is still more important, and I often use zoomed in high resolution photographs, but an XRF test is a nice quick, albeit lazy, resource.

All three of them, Künker, Frühwald and Rauch, are reputable auction houses. I have been bidding in their auctions a lot, and I bought from Künker's shop (a batch of slabbed 1 and 2 Rands 🤩, and more). No issues whatsoever. Künker is also among the people behind the Sixbid bidding platform.
I am certain the coin will be withdrawn once they had a look at it. On the other hand, I would likely have bid on it, even knowing it to be fake or manipulated.
