    An interesting find on bookface
It would appear that even in 1935 collectors were at war with flippers so much so that it is discussed in Parliament no less on the subject of the Proof/Specimen 1935 crowns.

After a short queue time this morning I ended up not buying anything. The designs just aren’t strong enough - even though I like the theme and what they’re trying to do, it just doesn’t pop. I might pick up the brilliant uncirculated 1oz silver version down the line.

I think both 2021 designs were very strong, and these coins just can’t compete with that as far as grabbing my attention and making me want to buy.

    My personal opinion is this…
I think the RM flooded the market with too many releases. And, with the increased mintages of the Gothic Crown coins, they killed the goose that laid the golden eggs.
In a way, it’s good because the RM indirectly flipped the finger to the flippers (the GC prices now seem to be a race to the bottom).
I believe that’s why the flippers have stayed away from the latest RM releases, which is why the releases haven’t been the typical sell-out in a few hours.
What this also means is that genuine collectors now have a better chance at buying what they want, direct from the RM, at issue price.
This is great imo. It is what we hankered for. Less queueing. More availability. Buying what you like - not what you think it will sell for.
Collecting feels a bit more genuine again. 😀

Well, I stumped for the 2 oz silver and 2 coin frosted set.
Will see what they look like in the flesh and if they don't do it for me I can always return.

We just found this on Twitter:

We reported it to Twitter, who have "suspended" the account, and we are asking them for more information.
I doubt they will voluntarily tell us who set it up.
    Putin / Trump / Barry?

Here's my letter from the coin I sent back. Looks like it's a template as they sent me back my lion after assuring some sovereign's were ok 🤦🤣. Back for a refund it goes. I've already boxed it up to return it as I can't be arsed to take more pictures of more problems to show, I'm feeling a bit deflated.

You can go far beyond 30 days if it's a inherent fault that was clearly present (but not necessarily manifesting itself) at the time of purchase.
... unless it's reasonable to expect all silver coins to milkspot?

The gimmick of it does nothing for me. When I’ve been looking at picking up the odd graded coin from eBay, etc. I actively search around for the standard label if I can find it to keep everything consistent.

I wonder if anyone who has had milk spotting issues with reverse proofs can confirm for me that this is what I'm seeing in this photograph? I took out my panther reverse proof set to admire and noticed a blemish that I didn't see when I first received it. I haven't opened the capsules, so my instinct is telling me that it is a developing milk spot from something picked up in its time at the mint?

That sounds like it is the root cause - what is more concerning is that it made it's way in this condition through the QC process though - that's the bigger issue

Unless you are just buying to flip, who cares what price these are going for on eBay or if the mint has coins left? I like mine, will be continuing and will not be flipping! At least its a coin series that the more everyday funded person can afford!

Just sent email No2 to the RM Chief Exec and returned my supposed restrikes.

    Dear Ms Jessopp,
I sent you an email on 6th November 2021, complaining about the poor quality of the 1oz and 2oz coins Silver Proof Seymour Panther Tudor Beast coins I received.
Three months since sending that email I am still waiting to receive my coins to a proof standard. This is after returning 15 defective coins. This includes the 4 most recent coins I received on 2nd February 2022 which I had to wait nearly 2 months for while they were being restruck and directly inspected by the production manager.
Despite these assurances these coins also possessed defects that are clearly visible to the naked eye, and I have had to return them.
To me this suggests that either.
There was no adequate quality check on these coins before they were sent as was promised. The packaging Royal mint uses is insufficient to protect the coins in transit I find it completely unacceptable that I have to wait over 4 months since the original purchase I made and return 15 coins to date and I am still yet to receive a set of Silver proofs of an acceptable standard. I believe this clearly demonstrates significant failings in your quality control processes that you need to address.
I would therefore like confirmation of the steps that will be taken to provide the coins I have ordered to a ‘proof’ standard. I would also like to know how the Royal mint proposes to redeem itself given the ongoing inconvenience this has caused to me over the last 4 months.
For your awareness I am a member of the www.thesilverforum.com and will be posting this email on that website, as I am aware I am not the only one of your customers to have suffered significant issues with the quality of your products recently.
I look forward to your response.

I have not been disappointed. This design pops beautifully in reverse, and having both together is just an excellent set. I really wish there had been a continuity option for this presentation!
