2023 ROYAL MINT PF70 FR UCAM CORONATION GOLD PROOF SOVEREIGN KING CHARLES III 2 - Picture 1 of 8

The first two graded PF70 Coronation sovereigns ive seen up for auction ending tonight

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235092083663

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235092086077

Both finishing in three hours time tonight, will see what the market thinks their value is £722, £726 currently

I would be buying up the currently unloved/under list RRP PF70  "memorials" personally if i was buying anything. I saw a PF70 memorial proof sov go for £625 this morning on BookFace

I thinks these Coronation proofs will be everywhere on the market as they return back to the UK from grading over the next six months

I'm intrigued to see because right now we have no clue if this will be an instant hit like the jubilee or an ugly duckling like the memorial.

I am watching a lot of memorial quintuples as the prices right now are low I have a bit of a mission to get a pr70 for sub 3 grand and I think I will succeed sooner rather than later.

Some better photos for my fellow coin addicts 😂

In my opinion 2022 memorial JC is the most underrated modern coin right now. Sleeper.

I fully agree with you there, one for the future.

It's also worth noting that matte jubilee coin was very limited mintage and the Last soverign release of the qe2 reign.

I'd love the jubilee proof but thats just too pricey for me, good luck with the sale though, lovely set.

Lovely to see it in Proof. I’ve never paid much attention to this and I thought it was issued as a Bullion coin.

I have seen it as a quarter ounce bullion but never actually seen 1 ounce.

Interestingly if you look it up the proof page is still on the mint website showing total mintage of 250 and over 60%sold. Probably fair to guess there won't be much more than 150 sold (especially at the price they were asking! 2725 quid....)

1650 is extremely low, it sold at 9% premium on release. That's 1625 today, but you have to add that its sought after these days.

I think at 3250 for both they would be snapped up in 1 second flat

It is low and I did say that was the price if you want to sell it in an hour, in reality probably less, it's all a question of how important it is to sell and how long you have. I hope I gave reasonable advice on prices as I did give multiple options and time frames I'd hope they would sell based on those.

That's good to know. Thank you. I'll have a sit down later and weigh up what to do with it all

Dealer prices for these can be ignored, nobody is paying close to the 2500 to 3000 I've seen asked for dragons and griffin's.

I love these coins and have the set, the dragon was the last I bought in deal with 2 others when spot was similar to where it is now but we valued the dragon 1750/1800 as I remember when pricing up the3 coins.

End of the day it has a premium and there are buyers....you are probably getting plenty of private message offers (for once I won't be doing that)

If you want quick cash put the dragon up for 1650 and it will be gone in an hour, 1750 and it will sell probably in a day or two, 1850...maybe the right buyer will come along.

Bundle both for 3250/3300 and your pm's will be busier than a cam girls chat screen

It’s not of great concern to most but it’s odd that there are no branches of HSBC in the City of London now.  I wanted a little face to face complain time, had to go  to a regional branch, queued for half an hour to be told my problem could only be dealt with on line. It was carnage in there, massive signs saying don’t abuse the staff.  Thank god Jeremy Corbin never got in or  the country would be in a right mess  by now ….. oh hang on

That drives me nuts seeing those don't abuse the staff signs.

Companies need to take some ownership, people get abusive when they are upset or frustrated and these conditions are being bred through poor customer service.

While it may not be the fault of the bank clerk, the lone till operator in tesco with a line of 6 people and 10 closed checkouts either side, the call centre worker that can't speak English the decline in customer service is someone's fault and those people are never there to be held accountable. Setting your workers up for failure and thinking a stupid sign solves anything is pathetic.

  7.  @BackyardBullion just did a video about his own experience recently with this. He had Major problems with his bank blocking payments to the mint, after speaking to their fraud team they said he was all set.

He tried his card again while on the phone and it failed again. In the end the guy on the phone told him that even though he had completed all fraud checks the algorithm wouldn't allow it.

Now I'm no conspiracy theorist but this is recently happening to a lot of people trying to move money out of the mainstream banks and in to crypto or metals.

It's very strange and I doubt it's a coincidence, does someone not want you to move your money out of the banks? Are they so overburdened they can't afford cash withdrawls on any type of scale and they are doing anything possible to avoid giving it out? Do we have more banks waiting to collapse?

Or possibly someone wants gold, lots of it and is trying to stop it leaving the markets?

If either I would lean towards the first, I think a lot of banks have bugger all in reserve and are in no position to hand out cash/see it leave their system.

Either way I feel a lot more comfortable with a decent amount of gold in my possession.

I want to get some 2023 bullion Sovs with spot where it is compared to back in Feb but alas, I'm one of those people who stretched for the proof Sovs above with my bullion funds, imho at least for me, it was worth it.

There are still a few months to save for some Sovs, depending on which direction we slide I may/may not get them at as good a deal...

In the grand scheme of things, either direction won't impact in getting 2 or 3 for the kids this year.

I know the feeling, I got a bit caught up in the recent proof soverign sets, I think they will be worth it long term.

I have no self control though, only coin I planned for the next few months was the tudor bull and I just blew that money on a beautiful graded gold standard ounce at a price I just couldn't refuse.

Oh well, if my worst problem is having too much gold I can't complain too much

Buying Fomo for gold kicks in while it's rising and at a peak , everyone wants it 🤔

Nobody wants to buy gold when it's dropped back after a peak and is in the best buying position 😆

Oh we all want to....its just a question of whether it's going to slide further.

I think those looking to buy know that as the economy tightens there will be bargains to be had so keeping hold of cash may be the best idea. You can see it in the sales threads here, desirable coins like queens beasts are struggling to sell even with lower premiums.

I doubt we are at blood in the streets just yet be we are on the way and all those people swept up in Royal fever will be selling those jubilee, memorial and coronation coins they stretched themselves to buy

Wow really? I wouldn't have thought 1 part in 1000 would be enough to spot

Me neither, its very small, I couldn't guess at what percent of a percent of the surface it is never mind the weight of the affected area compared to the ounce of the coin. When you consider it that way, a tiny flake on a big, thick coin it is possible. Thankfully rare.

It's annoying but it's one coin in the stack, albeit a favourite, I will probably get it restored at some point.
