1st GIF - My reaction seeing the postie approach the door😇

2nd GIF - Identified packaging as Chards.

3rd GIF - My reaction after finally admiring the memorial sovereigns.

Love the design and super happy with the quality of these coins. I do agree that it does (design-wise) in some aspects look clustered together on a full sovereign but I believe the double sovereign version will possibly be one of my all time favourites as it is the perfect size to fully absorb the sheer beauty of the design. Better spacing and much better size/feel when you hold it too! I haven't got one yet but it'll probably be next on the wish list.

I am sorry to hear you call my stance on (free) postage "ludicrous".
As this Topic is posted under the "Gold" section, I will give a brief example based on a gold bullion sovereign.
Currently, we make about 2.5% gross profit on a single new sovereign. That is about £9. If we were to sell that "post free" we would make about £3, but it probably costs us £1 to £2 in labour and other admin costs. Would you work on that sort of profit margin?
I don't mind being competitive, our new sovereigns are from £6 to £23 cheaper than our major UK competitors, and even after postage we are still from £0.30 to £17 cheaper.
If you buy 2 pieces, our prices become even more competitive, because our "free postage" competitors don't give you any rebate on the postage you are already paying on your first coin, so we are then:
From £3 to £20 per coin cheaper.
Actually, writing that may have persuaded me that you could be right. We should simply add the postage to our prices, and charge more like most of our competitors. We would make more profit! Perhaps it is ludicrous for us not to maximise our profits, but...
Apart from the fact that it is a more direct and simple price calculation to quote the actual item price, then show it with postage, than to miss showing customer the "shop", "collection", or "storage" prices first, I would not enjoy treating customers as gullible morons by telling them they are getting "free postage", when I know there is no such thing. There is "including postage", but not "free postage". I much prefer treating our potential customers as intelligent, and with respect!

I remember in the early 1990s that 'coppers' were frequently substituted by foreign/old coins.
Farthings, half pennies, Lincoln cents, Channel Island/Gibraltar pennies etc. Were fairly common occurrences.
These days they are much less common. I believe this is not because people don't cross borders with coppers, but simply the effect of inflation. Coppers don't buy what they used to.

Has Chards seen an increase in sales since your involvement with the silver forum?
I'm estimating your influence/branding/marketing would account for a % increase year on year.

What a shame. Just received my first couple and maybe it’s just my eyes but it looks like an old coin I’ve just picked up off of the road that’s been run over a few dozen times. Can’t really see the design as it’s so small and cluttered.

Even after crushing you to death in an avalanche the RM boxes will likely still have a better finish than the RM coins they once contained!
Maybe you're all missing a trick and should toss the coins and grade the boxes?

    He ordered (2) coins
They took (6) weeks approximately to come
This All happened on the (23) day of the month
    So, 1x2x6÷23/4= 3? Huh?

I was never aware of the difference to be totally honest, for real. 😁
But I've never been bothered about semantics and accuracy, I invariably assign my own meaning to words I don't know and use them totally inappropriately - which is not very pointful you might say.

I bought this when I was 16 and in the 28 years I’ve had it must of had 10’s of thousands of 2p through it. I’ve always kept an eye out for different or non uk ones and amazingly I’ve only ever come across 6! Do you think the lack of foreign muck is because people just don’t cross borders with coppers in their pockets or because there are just so many 2p’s in circulation that they are just so diluted. Compare these to euros passed in place as pound coins which must have already happened twice this year to me.
