Well, I didn't received the coin today but last week... chuffed to get a 2002 sovereign at last.

My eldest was born back in 2002 and as such this will be a small gesture from dad once she turns 21 😍 Ag & Au... now to complete the two for the next one...

I'm possibly interested in a pendulum but there is one thing that dissuades me, the name on the base plate, EON BULLION.  If someone is in my property - invited or not and reads this if on display somewhere, "oh! why do they have something to do with bullion?".
I know we're all collectors and share our interest here on TSF but perhaps just a logo and EON as we're quite a secretive bunch about our hobby in general?

That’s interesting feedback, and I can see why that would be the case.
I guess this doesn’t matter on the board? As you might just store that away.
we could leave the “bullion” off the Back plate on the IOT device.
When stored away both the IOT device and the offline device have a platform the slides over the logo on the base of the testing area. So this “bullion” would not be visible.
We’d keep the EON.
The company is called EON for a few reasons, just to fill you in. The first one is that gold was created EON’s ago
in the collision between two neutron stars, this was discovered in 2017 from the LIGO gravitational wave experiments.
(very nerdy I know, but I guess i’ve Already nailed my colours to the mast)
the second, is the timelessness of gold, as it doesn’t degrade.
The third then is the sustainability of a gold based economy versus the unsustainability of a fiat currency based economy, and of course on shorter time scales it has been the predominant currency for all of history, and may well be again.
Anyway, I digress, I’d be interested to get other opinions an whether having the bullion visible is a problem. It does make sense what your saying.

I think E.ON would have a moan at that one lol... but you do have a valid point... burglars would look at it like an ornament and people you invite in you should trust... the plumber should NOT be checking out your ornaments... esp if its hidden away in the knicker drawer 😂

It happens to us all.
I sat and hovered over the mouse to buy a 1oz 2018 Oriental gold Britannia in 2018 and it was £940. I decided not to.
I regret that. 😬 Now they sell for £1,400+ and I wish I’d bought 10.
Hind sight is a wonderful thing that none of us have at the time but we all have looking back.
But like life in gerneral, it goes up and it goes down, just like the gold price. You’ve just got to enjoy yourself inbetween.

Haha, I was given a 1966 Gold Sovereign to me by my dad, but so far I have only splashed out on a 2020 Gold Sovereign, a 2020 1/10oz Gold Britannia and a 2020 1/4oz Gold Britanntia. I just need to work on getting the versions for the 2021's now. Have even dabbled with platinum now with the 1/10oz Platiunum Britannia's for 2020 and 2021. So I can see how easy it would be for me to go down that road if my budget more allowed for it! 💸

I think the hope is there and that's what keeps me driving forward but the reality is no. 

Reading all the comments above  I believe there is only one person to ask and give everyone a definitive answer to this question.... A man who is an expert in this field who has owned more sovreigns than I've had hot dinners!!!!!
