Received only a few minutes ago from @drakesterlingwho kindly sourced one for me. Until two weeks ago, I had no idea there was a 2020 version, as no images existed on the net. I wonder how many exist outside of the Indian subcontinent.

Following on with my Pre- Decimal Crown collection (1820 through to 1960) and whilst I do some reading and get a better understanding of Crown issues prior to George III,  I have decided to move forward with Decimal issued Crowns (or £5’s).
My aim is to collect all the modern Commemorative Royal issues- to date- and in as many formats as possible- Piedfort, Silver Proof, Proof FDC & Base Metal.
By my reckoning there have been 39 different Monarchy themed Crown issues since 1972- this should keep me busy for a while, so if you don’t here from me, that’s what I’m up to 😂
These arrivals came over the last several days.  With thanks to @Richym99 for the eight Piedforts and the freebie display case was appreciated (I’ll need it!).  And thank you @PapaLazarou for the Crowns.  A couple more were eBay pick ups.

    Piedforts

Crowns- Silver Proof & Base metal

Also nice to get together all 6 of Her Majesty’s Portraits in the Crown sized coin.

In fact, it is just the same firm. On ma-shops they sell under their actual firm's name Comptoir des Monnaies, while their own site is for obvious reasons operated under more international numiscorner.com name. Good dealer nevertheless, though, as is usually the case with online numismatic shops, can be a bit pricey...

    Well gents:
I have reported to Action Fraud.  There is a lesson to be learned for petty scammers here:
If you are going to try and scam people:
    (1) Don't also advertise your car on the same ebay account with its number plate visible (Easy to lookup an address using the plate)
    (2) Don't include your phone number on the ebay ad
    (3) Don't then give your address to the person who phones up for a test drive
All of this has been reported to Action Fraud - fed up of Ebay doing nothing.
    Best Dicker

Received this gem from @MikeSollast night. A rare 1887M 1st legend DISH catagorized M1 variety. (Hooked J, with E. B. in line high on truncation with raised stops).

I'm not entirely sure of the production of dies and how errors and faults are corrected, if there are any experts out then please comment. Any links to printed material would be helpful.
I've found a little more info on the F over Inverted A Variety though. Here's an extract from The Bentley Collection Auction Catalogue by Baldwins (credit to Steve Hill, the cataloguer) with an insight into how the error may have been formed:

There's a wealth of knowledge to be found in these archived auction catalogues that are available online in PDF format to download. This extract is taken from auction catalogue 79, but take a look at the others, especially 73 and 76:

My suggestion. Have a look at the Coins of the Realm and Coin Cabinet past auctions and see what has been on offer before within your budget, and what takes your fancy.
Suggest that you will pick up a George V pre WW1 or even a Victoria Old Head for £330 either on here or in one of their next auctions. Much more interesting than the modern sovereigns.
  20. Thanks

1957 to 69 "Gillicks" are popular and tend to attract a bit of a premium on them, because most were non circulation so are in good condition, yet old enough to have historical value. The first decimal set, from 74 to 84 "second portrait" are probably the more affordable from those dates.
The third portrait, from 85 to  97 were only minted in Proof condition and cost upwards of £400 at a minimum.
BTW, if you are looking for interesting coins, ignore the modern sovereigns. They look neither gold in colour and have much less detail than the older varieties.

    You think that is bad.
The coin cabinet use similar size DHL packets, to house three or four further envelopes inside for a single coin.
