Another experiment in Germania, this time with my shiny new 1oz Fenrir and its predecessor Fafnir.  Here I made up a small cardboard ramp to prop the coins up on a slight angle towards the light.

In related news, the Germania lens caps are kinda neat, but I notice if stacked in a tube the base of the cap is resting on the lens itself, even though the base is rebated slightly.  I wonder if that might mark the lens over time.

Well my silver coins is mostly in tubes as they left whichever mint minted them.
For some reason unknown, possibly/ probably barminess, I acquired some rather attractive wooden boxes with Antelopes on and have trays of capsuled silver Krugerrands in them. They look rather canny.
My shiny kilo Beasts are capsuled in a Monster box.
I have a kilo bar of Umicore sat on the carpet propping a door open.
My gold coins are all in capsules. Except the Sov I dropped that rolled behind some furniture. Things never roll behind lightweight things like lamp tables, it's always sideboards or summat else big. I reckon Murphy probably covered that in a law.

So I’m going to bump this as I’m fairly happy now, having sorted a mish mash of Proof sovereigns and bar a couple for the kids birth years, the rest are about to go. Also disposed of my carded sovereigns equally taking up safety box space are now gone and replaced with tubes for Bullion sov’s.
The kids sovereign birth year to date is all hunky dory, brit and kookaburra Silver date runs continue but I’m thinking of ditching my Silver Koala’s date run. Seem to have started a gold Kook 1/10’s run, just love kookaburra’s. Last thing on my list is a few odd silver coins need to go. With limited safe storage, my ocd has won the day. Took me 10 months but my main goals are nearly there.
Pretty chuffed 🙂

London Good Delivery Bar
I'd like to show my newly acquired 400 oz (13kg) 99.79% gold Bar. The Bank of England are allowing me to keep it in the Museum for free; to come and go whenever I like to touch it etc. However, last time, I tried to take it home, but failed miserably!
I can only dream, but my sprained wrist keeps waking me up! 😃

Same here. After 2023 I think I’m done with modern Sovs. While a change previously felt special, it now just feels gimmicky.
With the St. George and the Dragon design, the Royal Mint should be proud of a centuries old tradition and heritage that has managed to endure the test of time. It’s what makes the Sovereign so iconic - both to the UK and to the Royal Mint. It’s something to be proud of.
Instead, the Royal Mint seems to be varying the design at every opportunity just for the sake of it.
There are 100s of coins and ranges with annual variations - not just by the Royal Mint, but by numerous other Mints around the world as well.
I think the Sovereign risks losing its identity and becoming like any of these coin ranges out there.

Little and large, my first KG silver bar, a very satisfying lump it is too and a lovely little eagle to add some nice variety to the collection. 

I finally got my 5 Sovereign piece yesterday.  Awesome coin - a real winner!  Glad I bought this.  It's a large coin.  Now I can't wait for the next Sovereign to be released next month.  This year, I will do the subscription thing (if the RM still offers it) where it will be sent every year.  Best way to circumvent the queues!

I'd watch Inside Man with Denzil Washington, Clive Owen, and Jodie Foster, then the Bank Job with Jason Statham and Keeley Hawes, followed by King of Thieves with Michael Caine and Ray Winstone, and then give the idea a miss.
