On a serious note 🎹 imo its not so much as a bad time to buy gold. its more  of a instinct time to buy gold

When you get used to buying every month and it becomes second nature to your normal spending once youve got 5 years is nice, after 10 years is fab.

You haven't just got a nest egg you've got battery farm !  ;)

So how is this going to affect the premiums..?  up or down.?  if they still want to charge 10% with spot going up we're going to be looking at over £400 a sov..

BBP were 400+ anyway but some of the other vendors (Baird's, for example) just kept tracking spot at fairly reasonable premiums.  I guess Baird's could get away with it as they have a gold business across refining and other products so they could play swings and roundabouts, or maybe they just have a shitload of old bullion sovs.  Their payment issues (card processing isn't working on their site, for some reason) may have also played into it.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

I bought just before the last dip but I managed to get some in this dip at £1435 and £1420 or so.  No idea what it will be next month.

Another basement, another elevator, how can the same sh*t happen to the same guy twice?

Good films (except the 5th one, that shouldn't exist).

We don't speak about that one.

There are 4 epic ones in an beautifully insane crescendo of absurdity.

This… ⬆️⬆️⬆️

just keep buying it regardless of the spot price, and yes, if you have an emergency to fund, you may have to sell a couple of the latest Sovs / coin of choice at break even, or a small loss… But, you’ll make it up on the ones you bought before those when you do sell - especially 5 / 10 / 15 years down the line 🙂
