Finally the Eagle has landed or should I say the Rooster. A massive 1 kg Lunar Rooster. Just a really awesome beast of a coin. This is the end of a long on/off journey covering 3 years and completes the final piece of the whole series of plain silver 2005 Perth Mint Lunar Roosters. 1 kilo, 1/2 kilo, 10 oz, 5 oz, 2oz, 1 oz and 1/2 oz and and just over 2 kilos in weight.

Time to start saving for the gold set now 😀

I was just searching to see if there were any gold lunar roosters up for sale and happened upon this... THAT my friend is MASSIVE... I have the 5oz coin as my largest and I THOUGHT that was big... it looks like a baby compared to that kilo.. BEAUTIFUL set ❤️

Thanks @Puddlejumper19, took a while to get the set but really pleased with it. The key coin is the 1/2 kilo, even rarer then the 1 kilo and nearly as expensive. Cheers👍

I made bought this one :D

My coin collecting friend removed the centre of a £2 coin. Can't remember what he replaced it with though

Tbh I only buy bullion (Proofs I am unknowledgeable in that space) I believe it’s proof.. too shiny to be bullion 🤷🏻😂

Shame its ended up as bullion, I'd probably still capsule it though, looks decent condition still

Not sure if it ended up bullion.. I paid for 2002 sov but someone here (@Darr3nG) bought them all 1min before me.

So it was double bought, so I wanted a sov and they offered this 2005 and I agreed..😁👏🏽

FYI- the coin is within a flip currently, but I may source few coin capsules 👍🏽

Damn that's awesome. The 2005 is my favourite special edition reverse :) looks great in proof too

Some Gillicks, I see.  Try getting a couple of Machins and George Vs - both readily available in good condition and very photogenic.

The Sovereign is the quintessentially British coin.  It has a German queen on the front, an Italian waiter on the back, and half of them were made in Australia.

2022 Jubilee SOTD Sovereign

A bargain.  In really good condition.  Definitely one for grading.

This is an interesting picture.  It almost looks as if the edging reeds have been removed to produce the "smooth" edge for the SOTD.  Has anyone weighed one of these SOTDs?
