Today I Received.....

A couple of 90mm brass medals.  The one of most interest to me is the 2016 Sinosauropteryx (Chinese Bird Lizard).  It does form part of a 4 medal Prehistoric series from the Shanghai Mint beginning with the Mammoth in 2015.  Originally I didn't pick up the mammoth because it was a big of a fail.  The mammoth is a fairly decent design but the back was very plain and low relief.  Since I picked up the Sinosauropteryx I decided to go back and pick up the mammoth to keep up to date in case the next 2 end up being cracking designs.

Another brass medal set but this one is from the Mint of Poland.  The 2 medals interlock and are housed in a wooden frame.

Those ultra high relief Chinese medals are extraordinary!!

 

Thanks for sharing the pics....I definitely will need to buy these and add them to my small but growing collection of Chinese medals.

The two 49mm trays and a 2002 silver Britannia (didn't add to the shipping cost whereas two coins would have) arrived from Nordfrim today

The 2 silver Britannia 1998-2016 sets I am creating now have a nice home to lay in

Good news on the trays is that with 5 trays fitting more snugly in the carry briefcase MK4 than the original four, there is no rattling anymore..

Bought at auction last week, only picked it up yesterday, into the capsule today. A fairly standard $10 S gold Eagle from 1901.  The Liberty heads are growing on me, although the Indian head is still my favourite pre-33 US gold design!

Then a selection of 18 rounds and a 5oz Shotgun Shell.
