  1. Hi all,

Have found in an old box from years and years ago some bits and bobs I bought that I no longer know much about it I’m honest! I have what is probably 6-8 (?) grams of gold leaf, 7 (very small) USA liberty fractional pieces of gold and an 1852 fractional California gold piece too, plus a silver and copper bar. Please see pics.

Being totally honest not entirely sure what any of it is worth over and above perhaps spot, so if anyone has any pearls of wisdom please do feel free to get in touch.

For what it's worth I never got my original coa returned....thibk it was low hundreds but received high thousands.

Sorry to hear that too James. I wouldn’t be so bothered if I hadn’t specifically had a conversation with her about this, and have email records of her confirming that I would get the exact same ones back! Feels like just another broken promise…what do the RM get right?!

@Yorkshiremanc A damn shame and perhaps a shred of evidence to the widely held belief that defective returns are being sent out to unsuspecting victims. I do hope that you are adequately compensated.

All completely unsurprising though with the steaming turd of a reputation they seem to have garnered. If you have a spare moment the trustpilot reviews really do make for some entertaining reading material.

Agreed @Shep. I also fear that defective items have been recycled and sent out! I have expressed to her that my absolute preference would be to have my COAs returned, so if that can’t be done, will have to think of plan B 😔

  4. I got my x2 sovereign sets returned to me on Friday. I had specifically requested that my COAs be returned and was told they would honour this. Anyway, two of the six coins that have come back are in worse state than the ones I sent! So they need to be replaced.

However main annoyance is that, surprise surprise the two sets arrived with different COAs! Head of customer service tells me this is wrong: the sets should have gone into a specific area, so the individual coins could be replaced and then the set itself, with the COA I sent, returned to me! She tells me what has happened is the sets have been processed as returns and she says the COAs have likely been sent to someone else now. She will investigate, though if the COAs can’t be located (which they won’t be!) she said we will have to think of a contingency (perhaps ‘reserving’ me a low COA on a future release). Very disappointed, but then again, it’s the RM so anything that can go wrong, does goes wrong!

Don't RM do restrikes (or whatever they're called)?

Hi Mark, call tomorrow. I called when I got mine on Thursday and the operator had to check stocks, but informed me that she could place a hold on another one if I sent this one back. My guess is the ones they have ‘reserved’ for any special sets they may be using for immediate replacements, and then potentially reminting the faulty ones? Worth phoning sooner rather than later in case this is no longer the case though!

thanks Dave - I am going to attempt an exchange, but whether they've kept any back to swap over or not is another thing. I'll let you know how it goes

Hi @BiigTi had a scratch on mine in a similar place, but was on queens forehead! I rang RM and they had to check, but came back and said some were available to exchange. I got it in writing that they will exchange (recommended) but I wonder if the ones they were planning on using for any sets will be used as replacements for now, and then possibly reminted later? Definitely worth getting an exchange though! It is possible!

@Yorkshiremanc that’s a shame. You sure it isn’t just some fluff?

Unfortunately not 😔you can see the light catch when you move it around. Really hope everyone else’s are OK!

good news is though - just got off the phone with customer services…they are sending me a returns label and have put another on hold so that this can be replaced!😊

  8. Hi all, upon closer inspection of my three coin sets I decided to ask for replacements too (one set arrived with quarter sov loose). Phone call with Emma Davey (customer services manager) assured me both sets would be inspected by QC and any coins with defects would be reminted. So to help, I included a bit of paper in each set with the exact defects of each coin listed on it so that I can cross-ref when I hopefully get my new sets, to make sure they have actually properly replaced!

Have to admit I am a bit nervous that they may just refund and not return the sets, though a call to RM today did confirm that the sets were being replaced. Watch this space!

I am still quite confused how the "Gothic Crown Quartered Arms and Portrait 2021 UK 2oz Silver Proof" works.

Does this means i will automatically get a reserved QV Portrait version when it is released next year? It is quite hectic and i just added it without thinking much... 😉

Also, this might help (see below) 😁
