Cointreau got a reaction from Gruff in Silver Monitoring Thread £ (GBP) only.
Just had a look at the US Debt clock site. If you click on the PM's icon you see that the ratio of silver coming out of the ground compared to gold is only nine to one.
Silver is still very undervalued. I will still be buying.

I saw this article last night on King world news and immediately took a long position on silver. I should have posted it on here but I didn't.
Here it is anyway. Eric Sprott is buying shed loads of silver. 75 million oz, (not the 1.5 billion I initially posted)

Cointreau got a reaction from fehk2001 in Gold Monitoring Thread $ (USD) only
I said we'd hit $1740. It took a about three weeks to happen but still. This is really bullish for this time of the year. Gold will be $2k plus by end of year.
Especially so when the stockmarkets crash again in the autumn.

Where's Wonger with this week's chart? Gold obviously too strong, I wonder if he's been stopped out yet?😉

Cointreau reacted to Bumble in Gold Monitoring Thread $ (USD) only
Well, the 'official' explanation of the huge contango was that it was caused by the difficulty in moving physical gold from the LBMA, which is the main spot market, to the Comex, which is the main futures market, as the result of the lockdown. If this is correct, then the normalization of the contango may be just that the Comex managed to sort itself out and either acquire the gold it needed or persuade buyers to settle in cash. What seems more likely to me is that the high contango in gold was like an inverted version of the huge backwardation in oil that happened two weeks ago. Oil went strongly negative in the futures market while still being positive in spot. That was caused by oil speculators being caught out in long positions that they were forced to roll over in order to avoid taking delivery. With gold the opposite happened: speculators were short and unable to deliver so they were forced to roll their contracts over and pay over the odds to whomever owned the physical.

The huge contango of the last few weeks seems to have gone away. At close the futures price was just $8 above spot.

Cointreau got a reaction from zhoutonged in I bought some Fresnillo shares
I might go long wheat as well as I think farmers are really struggling in general. With labour shortages, low commodity prices, the weather (look for a cold and early autumn)
and now Covid shutting down meat packing plants and affecting supply chains. And Russia will likely not be exporting any of their wheat for the foreseeable future.

Tthe fundamentals just aren't there for gold to go down anywhere near $1000.
I don't see it going any lower than 1570 during the summer lull and this sucker's rally in the stockmarkets.
