Gold is dropping faster than an Aussie Gold Hunters bank balance, is this the start of a move down to £1100...

Received these three beautiful coins today. Apologies for the photos- very poor light and iPhone camera not the best.
The 200th SOTD Matte Anniversary Albert Celebration Sovereign & the Silver Victoria 200th Anniversary Silver £5.
First impression is that the RM Quality Controller has served me well.
And as always, thanks go to @terakris for the 2005 Sovereign- you can never have enough 2005 Sovereigns.
On first glance the Matte does look better than the Vic 200’s...

Definitely AU58+, I've seen far worse MS coins, which is why I don't grade anything
My images are for archival purposes, this was a quick one so not quite there but I could easily make this look MS63 with photography which is what most sellers do. My lighting highlights the flaws not hides them!
Yes I'd agree, I have a few similar dates graded 61-64 and they don't look any better! The images I take are ok, but I struggle with lighting, especially on proofs, that said I only use an attachment for the iPhone and a cheap light box. Would be interested in what set up you use. See images for examples...
Although they are better than most, would love to improve them, especially for those in my collection.

Always nice to buy from the Forum, better still to trade coins with each other and best of all is doing the above face to face. Nice meeting up with you today@1817SovereignCollector.

Stunning result, and from the same set with consecutive numbers is a real plus imho. Many people make up sets from various coins (me included) as you cant always get the full set to grade perfect, but its nice when it does. I have a 2012, 4 coin set, with consecutive numbers, but yours is a license to print money pretty much haha.
thanks for the quote, it is a special set, but maybe keepers unless anyone comes forward with the Aston Martin trade...

Thanks for sharing the image. Looking at the top of the Queens head (above the crown) the finish is not perfect, same with the others I have seen. Along with various other imperfections. They are a good looking Sovereign but in my opinion the finish is poor. It will be interesting to see how they grade. Thanks again. Karl

Any chance of having a look at the obverse of the Vic 200. I'm having a battle with the RM on one, and wouldn't mind examining the finish. Thanks Karl

I always land myself in trouble with Sovereign Mintage figures 😂- apparently, Spink is the most accurate resource- but according to Marsh (2017)- 2015 Sovereign and Half Sovereign figures:
Half- 4th IRB Portrait= 4,600 and 5th JC Portrait= 1,100 & Sovereign- 4th IRB Portrait= 9,800 and 5th JC Portrait= 8,800
Don't update your spreadsheet just yet- I'm sure I'll be corrected here.
Have you looked at the figures here, should be accurate and a useful reference... https://www.royalmint.com/discover/uk-coins/circulation-coin-mintage-figures/

Freshly back from the graders, the jewels in my 2005 collection. 3 x 70 and consecutive grading numbers. Chances of it happening again, slim to say the least. Thanks @Numistacker. 😁😁😁
Look great, I'm still chasing down the 1/2 and 5 in 70... well done on the grading.
