kimchi reacted to frugalman in Calling the experts.
OP, I noticed that the silver forum is primarily set up for bullion and proof coin collectors & dealers, IMO the 50% don't really fit into either category but are treated by some members as bullion (myself included when buying). Which is understandable because they can be stacked up just like some 925 and most .999
Numismatic ADVICE and clear photos of the 1925 would be more suited on this occasion, as you ask for information above any bullion value.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

Just taken delivery of these 2022 Kookaburras. Alas i wont be keeping most of them as they are Xmas gifts. But i may have "accidentally" over ordered as it was cheaper per coin to get 10 rather than 8 🤣
Here is a couple of closer pics of one of them

See it loud and clear
It's a no-brainer really isn't it?
Once the rush has stopped and premiums go down a bit mind, and with hopefully a drop in gold closer to £1300. As the jokers at the Mint might say 'we're here all year'!

They have to make them look rubbish so they can sell the proofs for twice the price! 😀

A lot of details been lost in the bullions compared to the proofs. Still want one though lol

kimchi reacted to Stuntman in Which to go for (in terms of likely appreciation): 2022 bullion double sovereign or . . .?
My collection/stack is almost all bullion and no proof. You're right from a financial point of view but I'd rather have more physical gold and more variety. I'm a long-term holder for the pleasure of ownership. Financial gain is welcome, but secondary for me.
Well done though for the coins you've secured over the last three years in particular - very smart decisions!

I agree with @Midasfrog with regard to monetary appreciation.
But for the pleasure of ownership, the bullion double sovereign is a nice size for actual appreciation of the coin 😄

kimchi reacted to paulmerton in PLATINUM DEALS - (UK & Europe) See a deal, post it here
More new platinum in stock, including the 2022 Britannia, tubes of tenths - and blister packs for the first time I think?
Notably, the Britannias now include the security features that were not present on the 2021 coins.

The Alderney has the original date on the reverse, one of many things going for it imo including a Jody Clark 'gothic Liz' portrait and more faithful weight and purity (plus they're already graded 70s)
On the other hand the Latin inscription is spelled wrong

The Latin mistake makes me smile.

I think you'd be absolutely bonkers to sell for that if they are good condition

Sapphire Coronation privy. Add up the amount of gold, and they've offered a flat rate over the phone without even seeing them (of course they have)!
It's not an untypical offer from a dealer so no criticism there but...blimey!
I bet poor OP's inbox is overflowing!

In mint condition this should sell as a set for £3500 easy.
